If you have to burn more calories than you eat a day how are you supposed burn about 1500-1800 caloreis a day. Most docors reccomen eating at leat 1200 a day. am i wrong abou this? or if not how do people burn so many calories because running for an hour exhasts most people and only burns about 250 calories.

I stepped down from a height onto the ground without arching my foot so all my weight went through my calf.I had a searing pain which felt as if I had torn the muscle.Now I can hardly walk( I can cycle though).It felt like it was quite high up in the muscle but I am now confused as some bruising has come out round my ankle.I am sure it is not my achilles as I have had that before.How long will this take to heal? should I see the doctor incase there has been some permanent damage?

I have always had trouble with florescent light. In the office, in stores, etc. How can I counteract this? I have been to an opthalmologist, and it is not a visual problem. (I believe it is some type of neurologial disorder, in that my brain does process this light - according to many websights). In short, it makes me lightheaded, and sometimes in certain areas dizzy and nautious. Also, my ability to see correctly is diminished. Doing my job is actually very difficult for me, but I have no choice.

I've had just about every proceedure done possible. You name it. I don't like the morphine route so I disregard it. Some days I can barley get out of bed the pain's so bad. I just don't do anything anymore. I've literally been a shut-in for the last 4 years. I get more depressed each day. I don't wan't to do anything extreme. I'm really scared. My family member was left paralyzed from back surgery.

I am 13 years old, 5'4'' and 105 pounds. I am currently trying to lose about 10 pounds. This is what i do:

Breakfast- Oatmeal (about 140 calories) and Skim Milk (75 calories)
Snack- Granola Bar (100 calories)
Lunch- Sandwich and Fruit (300 calories)
Snack- 1 cup of blueberries w/ Splenda (80 calories)
Dinner- Salad with eggs, cheese, meat, a little bit of dressing and chicken breast (400 calories)
Desert- Blueberries w/ Splenda (80 calories)

Exercise- 1 hour of PE (running,exercis stretches, etc.) and 100 crunches, 50 ups per leg, and 30 pushups at home

I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH AND I HAVENT LOST A SINGLE POUND. I NEED TO LOSE 10 POUNDS BY SWIMSUIT SEASON. I LOOK THE SAME!

Why havent I lost any weight?
Will I be able to lose 10 pounds by June?
How can I lose weight other than this?

I hear its about 5-6 with 3 sets of each workout, and you focus on 2 different muscle groups per workout, is this correct?

I also am not sweating although I work really hard when I lift, am I doing something wrong?

When do I know to increase the amount of weight on the exersize? Should I never be able to complete my 3rd set?

My dad died october 2, 2005. We weren't really close due to his drug addiction which he died of. But since I had lived with him for about 4 years with my uncle living there to we became closer then he died. I am having depression and mood swings majourly. It had taken a very bad effect on my life...How did you cope with the loss of a loved one?

I NEED HELP FAST. I haven't talked to me dentist yet about my all of a sudden fear I'm too scared to. I dont want to cry or have a panic attack I did once and it wasn't pretty. Just the thought of me having to have my wisdome teeth pulled is scary to me. I have only had normal things done such as fillings and cleanings as well as x-rays. Even having x-rays done makes me tense I noticed the last time I went not to long ago. I dont want my mom to come with me either (inside the room) what can I do? I dont' want to tell her myself. I'm so scared to get and injection of the needle because it's my mouth.I dont wnat laughing gas. Is there a way that maybe he can inject me, but slowly and give me a small dose just to see? Maybe if I need more he can add to that? Please help and give me advice. My friend did this behavior management stuff and she said it helped her alot. What do you think and the whole mouth prop thing does it hurt? How do I keep my mouth relaxed? I dont want to be sleep.

I am 14 years old, and I weigh about 100 pounds. Everyone thinks i am reallllllly skinny.(I am VERY thin-boned) And i know i am, but lately i have been having mixed feelings. I look in the mirror, and sometimes i see skinny, yet most of the times, i see not-so skinny. My pants are getting tigher and i have a bit of a belly, and it seems that my thighs are getting bigger. I just started to watch what i eat yesterday, and so far I have came to the conclusion, that i am not going to eat any more french fries, or junk foods, and that i am going to burn A LOT of calories, as much as possible, and I want to get down to 90 pounds. I am not one of those teenage girls who think they are fat, i know i am skinny, but i think i am afraid of getting fat. Do you have any nice suggestions, comments for me? :( thanks.

My normal heart rate is 120. My metabolism is really high. What ever I eat, my body consumes it so fast. I am fairly thin. (6ft, 170lb) Been going to the gym for about 6 months. When I run my heart rate goes up to 190-195 max. I don’t run for more than 15 minutes at speed starting at 3 then going up 3 levels every three minutes. Even when my heart rate goes all the way up I don’t feel too tired, I can usually handle it, but not for too long. I am trying to get a little more muscular more definition. Only have about 15% fat in my body. Can’t afford to get any more thin. Should I run for longer period of time at slower speed or should I run fast for small amount of time. Any resources about this kind of information such as books or websites or articles are appreciated. thanks

it's a strange feeling of numbness. it feels sort of like when it falls asleep, but without the pins-and-needles. I thought there was just some temporary poor circulation or something, but it's been this way for a while now and I'm not sure what to think. it's just the top of my foot and the front of my shin near the bottom where it connects to the foot. anyone know?
