I am 14 years old, and I weigh about 100 pounds. Everyone thinks i am reallllllly skinny.(I am VERY thin-boned) And i know i am, but lately i have been having mixed feelings. I look in the mirror, and sometimes i see skinny, yet most of the times, i see not-so skinny. My pants are getting tigher and i have a bit of a belly, and it seems that my thighs are getting bigger. I just started to watch what i eat yesterday, and so far I have came to the conclusion, that i am not going to eat any more french fries, or junk foods, and that i am going to burn A LOT of calories, as much as possible, and I want to get down to 90 pounds. I am not one of those teenage girls who think they are fat, i know i am skinny, but i think i am afraid of getting fat. Do you have any nice suggestions, comments for me? :( thanks.

I am about 7 lbs heavier than you and I am also very small boned. I think I am just about right, therefore I think your weight is fine but DO NOT try to get to 90lbs. 90lbs would be getting towards dangerously underweight. Don't forget, most models you see in the magazines either have eating disorders and / or they have been airbrushed.
As you are only 14, your body is still going through puberty and you will be gaining a more womanly figure, which includes your hips getting bigger. Did you know that a woman's attractiveness is generally rated by her waist/hip ratio (ie small waist, big hips). Hips a good and your pants will get tight because you are still growing.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with trying to eat more healthily and do exercise and this is recommended for anyone. However, do not try and cut your calories, just try and eat nutritious food. If you eat good food, avoid 'empty' calories (like junk food) and excercise, then you will be really healthy. Healthy eating does not equal being hungry.
Excercise will help tone up your body and build muscle mass (not in a beefcake way) and will make you feel good and look good. You may find your appetite increases as you do excercise, but do not fight it, make sure you eat if you are hungry. If you exercise without enough food in your body, then you will feel sick and dizzy.
Also, the odd McDonalds or candy bar is not going to make you fat and we all need an occasional treat. I eat McD's occasionally and am partial to chocolate from time to time and I am still slim because, on the whole, I eat healthily and walk lots.

I'm 23 and 5'3" (aprox 155cm) and i can't remember the last time i weighed 100lbs. I currently weigh 11st2lbs (156lbs or ~74kg) but am in proportion. I try to watch my junk food intake but don't deny myself anything. If you stop eating something all together you'll olny want it more. Don't worry about your weight at 14 you should have othe rthings to be interested in movies, school, boys etc. Also remember that around the age of puberty and teenage years your hormones are all in a muddle so putting on a little weight isn't unusual. Most likely you will use it to grow adn then everything will be in proportion. Depending on your height i agree 120 pounds would be a good weight for you!!!
Good Luck and i hope that all these replies make you feel better! My 12 year old sister has similar body shape to you and she was joking about stealing some of my weight to put on her. Don't be afraid to have a curvy body its how nature made you ;o)

You're only 14 of course your clothes are going to get tighter, you haven't finished growing yet! 100 pounds is very slight, dont worry about it chick, depending on your height I'd say 120 would probably be a better weight for you anyway. Junk food isnt any good for anyone, I should know, i just ate a massive KFC and i know thats gonna go straight onto my a r s e.

Hey sweetie; you know the only reason you think you are gaining weight is because you are not happy with who you are. Of course I can easily tell you that you are not over weight. I do exactly the same thing in the mirror(close up) & thats where you start to think hang on how big am I? & iv'e got a bit of a belly which im rather conscious of. You are only 14 years old 100pounds is very slim to me. You are fine as you are Trust me!!! If you feel you need control of your weight, keep active in things you enjoy e.g. netball, football the gym, encouage your friends to go with you too!!! & To everyone out there this is coming from a female (potter)!

As long as you eat healthy 95% of the time, occasional "junk" food in moderation won't hurt. At 14, 100 lbs. is not fat or skinny. Eat right and keep moving for health.

Try not to think about what you don't eat, but try to focus on putting as much good food into your body as possible. That way you don't get fat because you're not eating junk food and you're not going to get too thin. You'll also get that lovely healthy glow about you and if you combine that with plenty of exercise, you should feel really good about yourself. Too many people get obsessed with what they shouldn't be eating, rather than thinking about what they should be eating. It's much nicer to concentrate on all the great healthy, tasty food you'll be eating!! Good luck and enjoy it, being fit and healthy is fun.

It is good that you are watching your junk food intake. Crash dieting is very dangerous especially at you age. The important thing is what sort of person you are on the inside. I am sure you are aware of how easy it is for young girls to be caught up in eating disorders.

Well done for becoming conscience of what you eat, saying no to junk food is a good start. Exercise will be good for you but not too much, at 14 too much exercise could damage your body.

dont forget that at 14 u are expericencing both physical and emotional changes. physically u will grow in height and in weight and its totally natural, emotionally u may feel upset, inadequate which might explain why u feel u need to lose more weight. i appreciate u have alot of pressure on u at the moment but look after yourself. and dont forget that a little of what u like is good for u.
