I had strepp throat every year when I was a child and my tonsils became very infected. So eventually I had a tonsilectamy. After the surgery, my mother told me that my tonsils "crumbled in the doctor's hand," and that if I hadn't had the procedure sooner, it would have been dangerous for me.

Years later, affter going through therapy, I've realized that my parents "exaggerated the truth" a lot, to put it mildly.

I'm no doctor, but I find this scenario difficult to believe. I appreciate all the insight I can get. Is it possible for one's tonsil's to just "cumble" before one's eyes? I doubt many people have answers to this, but if you do, I'm all ears. Thanks!

I've had four partners, two of which came after I discovered I had hpv. This makes tracking when I caught hpv easily. If it was the last partner, I have had hpv since March 2005. I discovered I had hpv when my doctor found warts. They won't go away! They are internal warts, too. I've been using Aldara to boost the immune system, not smoking, sleeping, exercising, etc.... nothing is making them go away! I've been so grossed out with my body now, I haven't been able to be turned on six months. It's getting worse, too; I'm starting to get an external break out, even with Aldara. I've had three different doctors now and they all say that my body will get rid of the warts. I'm starting to think they are wrong. Is it possible to have warts forever? Good lord, I hope not. I have to have sex again! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have been experiencing sleepless nights over the last 2 months. Everyday I go to bed around 12:00 – 12:30am and I wake up at 7:15am for work.
My situation, which occurs twice a week, is that I fall asleep around 12:15am. After another 10 minutes I wake up again. Then it takes me another 10 minutes to go back to sleep. I spend the rest of the night going through the same thing. Every 10 minutes I wake up then take another 10 minutes to sleep. When I wake up, I feel so hot as if my feet are on fire, but without any sweat. I try changing my cloths into lighter ones, I try drinking a cup of milk, and I even wash my feet with cold water, but nothing works. This really drives my nerves so I leave bed by 2:30am although I feel so tired and in need to sleep. Usually, when this happens I stay awake until 6:00am, which leaves me only an hour to sleep before work.
Now, I need to know why is this happening to me? What is it? And how can I prevent it from happening again and again?

Can I use bactrim antibiotic for a tooth infection or penicillin for a bladder infection. Basically I had a tooth infection but its gone now, I have a bladder infection. I have run out of one antibiotic but have a lot of the other. So in the interim, can I use either and would they be equally effective?

and yes I realize I have to replace good bacteria in the gut that is lost when taking antibiotics, so I am taking acidophilus too.

My daughter 5 years old does not speak fully. Very few understandable words only! Doctor suggested hearing test for her. The hearing test personnel told me that she has fluid behind her ear membrane, so test shall not be reliable. Is it true? Also is there any method to remove this fluid without operation? She does not chew on chewing gum and does not like to inflate balloons (suggested by the hearing test personnel). What should I do?

..... I had two kids in my late thirties. I have missed three periods so assume I may be peri-menopausal, however I cannot risk pregnancy (though it would be unlikely). I have not taken the combined pill before but wondered if it may be an alternative to the likes of HRT (for the time being) which seems to have greater health risks attached. I don't smoke, I'm not overweight, my general health is good.

I am 31 and was diagnosed at age 15; so far so good in terms of complications, but I always had it drilled into me that complications were more or less inevitable eventually. Yes, there are exceptions, and I am in reasonably good control (I've been on an insulin pump since I was 20 thanks to a forward-thinking endocrinologist), but no diabetic has perfect blood sugar. My sister is a Type I diabetic as well, as was diagnosed two years before me, has had two children, and has had no complications either. Frankly I think that we have been 'lucky' since we both periodically run into the 300s and might be characterized as brittle diabetics. I'd say our A1C levels hover around the 7 areas. Anyway, I'm just curious to know what your experiences with complications have been; it's always been interesting to me how the disease affects different people in different way.

I felt extremely terrifying and collapsed when I left my ex-husband of 10 years. I didn't know how to live on after that...or my life without him. I met someone else soon enough after that. We have been together for almost 2 years. My independence on him is even stronger. Now that I'm physically apart from him, but I must have constant contact with him, at least once in 1-2 hours or so. I know that my attachment to him is too strong to the stage that I don't know how to live my own life even when I'm physically apart from him now, I must know where he is and what he is doing all the time. Now that I've found a job here since 2 mths ago, but I just kept feeling like going back to be with him. He told me that he feels the pressures from me, he needs his own space & time. And if I continue this way, he cannot continue to be with me anymore. I know that I'm in serious trouble...what are the good suggestions to encouter this problem.
