I had excess skin on my labia minora and had to treat it surgically about 10 years ago (something I would not recommend without ruling out other things first).
The color of the labia minora varies from race to race and for some it might be darker such as if they are Hispanic as one example.
To be on the safe side I would recommend that she see her dr to check for hormone imbalances. I found out from someone on one of the e-lists that I'm on that one of my current medical conditions could have actually caused the problem with the excess skin on my labia minora.
