It's PERFECT!!!

Not to overstate it, but I really think eating every 2-4 hours is the best thing I've ever done for my body. Really! I'm never hungry, but I've lost close to 30 pounds! And I'm much less grouchy than I was when I was hungry. Plus I don't binge like I used to because I'm not starving anymore. It's all good!

Rather than snacks or meals, I call them mini-meals because it reminds me that while they should be fairly small amounts of food, they should be well-balanced. Include fiber and an ounce or two of lean protein each time because these make you feel full longer, and get as many fruits and veggies as you can.

To find the number of calories necessary to maintain weight, the average person should multiply current weight by 13-15. To lose weight, the average person should multiply current weight by 10-11. Both of these assume average activity levels and no additional exercise--in each case you have to ADD calories burned by working out at the end. This is important! A marathon runner needs to eat more than a couch potato who weighs the same amount!

For example, a 150-lb. woman who wants to maintain her weight should eat between 1950-2250 calories (150x13 and 150x15). If she wants to lose weight but never exercises, she should consume 1500-1650 calories per day (10x150 and 11x150). But if she works out one day and burns 300 calories, she should consume 1800-1950 calories that day (1500+300 and 1650+300).

How many additional calories you should eat depends on how much more you burned through exercise. Use the BBG calculators to figure this out, and then add those calories back in to your day's total.

How many calories to eat at each mini-meal depends on how many calories you should be consuming per day and when you get hungry. Personally, I like to make most of my mini-meals roughly the same size because it's easier to divide my day's calories evenly. Then I don't have to count calories for the day, just for the meal. I find it to be less of a hassle. But you can have a different-sized meal every time you eat if you want.

If you're starving at lunch, say, then you might want to eat a larger mini-meal then. If you are hungry after a hard workout, then you could arrange to eat more calories then. It's flexible based on your particular needs.

Fasting between meals stinks! Eat more often!

I hope this helps. Best wishes!

I'm 5' 1 1/2" tall and when I pulled up some info about what I should be sitting at weightwise one time and I need to be around about 115-125 (my dr would prefer me to be at 130 and I'm thinking it may have to do with my body's medium frame build). It's amazing how different we are.

But I have heard that eating the 6 small meals a day does work. One of the professional golfers out on the men's tour lost quite a bit of weight by eating the 6 small meals a day and cutting out soft drinks and one other thing that I can't remember right now.

i think that's maximum suitable to lose the burden in slow increments, so which you will shop it off and not have that rebound result. 5 small nutrients is the suitable. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner. If how a lot you'll be able to desire to consume can variety including your weight and BMI. the known is 1200 energy alotted an afternoon. For you it may desire to be one thousand energy an afternoon yet lacking nutrients or ingesting a million meal an afternoon around that a lot i don't have self assurance is powerful. it could be healthful meals with a lot of protein and fiber.

Yes it does work. Eating regular healthy snacks is far better than 3 big meals a day. Work at am rather than pm. Morning is the best time to exercise.

6 small meals will prevent you from going hungry for too long and therefore your body won't need to store any fat which in turn might make you gain weight. So don't starve yourself!! And working out in the mornings is better for you. Good luck. *

It does for me. Eating six mini-meals means that you won't ever be hungry for long. It helps in losing weight because your stomach becomes accustomed to eating much smaller portions of food in each sitting.

It doesn't matter when you work out--as long as it's not close to when you want to get to sleep.
