I'm 22 years old. For the past few months I've been having chest pains on the left side up where my heart is and sometimes down lower where i think my liver is. They've been getting a lot more frequent lately (almost daily). When it happens i usually get a panic attack and anxiety that lasts for hours as well as weird muscle spasms. A lot of the times i'm relaxed at night in bed and just as i'm about to fall asleep it feels like my heart stops or skips a beat or has a quick pain and i sit up quickly and gasp a big breath as if something scared me then i get anxiety from it and i get the shakes for a long time. All of these conditions seem to worsen the day after i drink (which is 2-3 times a week). Any idea what could be wrong?

First off I listen to drex in the morning 103.5 I love it! Anyway, a lady listener emailed the dj this topic. She was wondering if people that have std's like herpes should be in a job market handling food.
Her experience was that one day on her way to work she stopped a local coffee shop for some expresso. Anyway, the guy who took her ordered had what she claimed to be herpetic lesions all over his mouth. The lady was so grossed out she did not order anything. She came up with the solution that when a worker has noticeable lesions they should not be allowed to be in the front part of an establishment. What do you think?

I am 23 years old and I had blood drawn last week. The nurse called me yesterday and told me that my thyroid count was high (12.5, needed to be at 12 she said) and they need me back in to have more blood drawn to make sure. What does this mean?

Just had my 2nd reading, and received 7.1 or 115 fasting reading. First time it was 7.0. I have absolutely no symptoms of any kind. I have quit smoking, am active, try to exercise at least 3 to 4 times a week. I feel great, rarely have any illness. I am however, at 68 yrs of age, about 10 lbs overweight and attribute some of that to quiting smoking. (2 mths aga). I'm not a med person, should I worry more about the blood sugar, or the medication.

My daughter is 24yrs old and has been suffering from her eyelashes falling out, they grow back then she gets a swelling at the folical base and the eyelash falls out leaving her eyelid bare, does anyone know what this maybe and more importantly can this be treated and how, i have looked on the web and have come across something called Demodex folliculorum, eyelid mite, has anyone heard or suffered from this, i would be so gratefull of any advise or help, she finds this condition unbearable.

I am trying to lose 10lbs. and it's not happening. I am working out every day and eating about 5 or 6 small healthy meals throughout the day. I am doing at least 40 minutes of cardio a day and usually do at least 20 minutes of running or walking first thing in the morning, then I do different cardio routines in the evening. Only healthy snacks, like carrots and fat free yogurt...even taking hoodia. But I have not even dropped a pound. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but it's not like I was very flabby to start and I havn't gained much more muscle so i don't think that is the issue. I have always weighed the weight that I am trying to get to, so that is not an unrealistic goal either. Please help.

A friend of mine has a birthmark on her leg.(its on her schin) She refuses to wear anything that will show it off. No shorts or short skirts. Even in the summer time, when it gets blistering hot outside, she will wear pants. The birthmark is brown and about 2 inches long, it is very noticable.It looks like a skin discoloration, nothing extravagant. I have always told her that nobody really notices it to help make her feel more confident, but it doesn't help. She is beautiful girl with a great body. Does anybody know if a dermatologist can remove it? Or anybody that can remove it for that matter? Or perhaps any advice on how I can boost her self-esteem with words??

Ill probably get a lot of answers saying no no suicide is wrong etc but in some cases can it be justified?
eg if a person was so depressed for a number of years, medication, exercise, etc doesnt help or work and the persons life is just a struggle to cope and they were an independant adult would it be so wrong for them to just end their suffering?

I suffered from chicken pox 3 years ago.The infection was rather severe more so due to my mother giving me the rather wrong kind of treatment(I am so mad at her) and due t which the infection spread throughout my body.I was 13 then.Its been nearly four years now and allthough the scars have faded they have definitely not complelrely cleared away.I face severe confidence issues ever since this has happpened and I have become more reclusive and my personality has completely changed and I find it rather hard to approach people and become more of an introvert over a period of time.The scars are not visible on my face and hands although they are noticeable on my feet and I feel rather embarrased an can't even to a damned pool due to this and neither can I focus on my studies.I am so mad...period.My friends say I still look attractive but I feel that they are only saying it to make me feel better.
