I suffered from chicken pox 3 years ago.The infection was rather severe more so due to my mother giving me the rather wrong kind of treatment(I am so mad at her) and due t which the infection spread throughout my body.I was 13 then. Its been nearly four years now and allthough the scars have faded they have definitely not complelrely cleared away.I face severe confidence issues ever since this has happpened and I have become more reclusive and my personality has completely changed and I find it rather hard to approach people and become more of an introvert over a period of time. The scars are not visible on my face and hands although they are noticeable on my feet and I feel rather embarrased an can't even to a damned pool due to this and neither can I focus on my studies.I am so mad...period.My friends say I still look attractive but I feel that they are only saying it to make me feel better.

Well, lighten up. Scars don't really make a person look bad. I knew a guy who had a lot of scars from being burnt in a fire. After I got to know him a little, he was such a nice person and so fun to be around that I thought he was really attractive, and never noticed the scars. If you let the scars make you an introvert, shy, embarrassed, or angry, you're missing out! You can still be a great person, a good friend, and an interesting and attractive man. Stop worrying about how you look, and work on how you are inside--if you can become a quality person, nobody is going to be turned off by a few pock marks.

I had a bad case of chicken pox, too, and had three large scars that remained. I never wore low-cut shirts because of one on my chest. After six or seven years, it is scarcely visible, and I don't even think of it anymore. If anyone saw it (which they would have a hard time doing), and asked what it was, I would tell them it was from a bad case of chicken pox. That's all, and it really isn't a BAD thing, so why be embarrassed?

Anyway, hope this helps. Don't worry about self esteem because of looks--if you ARE a good quality person, it will show no matter what your looks are. And you probably look great! So cheer up.

In some cases they just go away on their own but for some they don`t. Some people use cream to get rid of chicken pox scars. So you can wait and see if they go away in the next year and if they don`t try and find some cream to help.

I had chicken pox when I was about four years old, I can remember my mother telling me not to pick or scratch at them, she told me they can leave scars. I'm not sure what you can use, Maybe ask your doctor or pharmacist to maybe getting rid of scars or to try to make them less noticable. Good luck.

Who the heck looks at feet? It sounds like you need to get over it. Do you think you're the only 16-year-old with confidence issues? Guess what, they all do.

You could try Mederma for scars. It does work on most scars.
