I am trying to lose 10lbs. and it's not happening. I am working out every day and eating about 5 or 6 small healthy meals throughout the day. I am doing at least 40 minutes of cardio a day and usually do at least 20 minutes of running or walking first thing in the morning, then I do different cardio routines in the evening. Only healthy snacks, like carrots and fat free yogurt...even taking hoodia. But I have not even dropped a pound. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but it's not like I was very flabby to start and I havn't gained much more muscle so i don't think that is the issue. I have always weighed the weight that I am trying to get to, so that is not an unrealistic goal either. Please help.

You mention that you aren't flabby to begin with, so it could be that losing weight is going to be extremely difficult. Sort of parallels the law of diminished returns (the closer you get to your goal the more effort it takes to achieve that absolute goal). Another thing you didn't mention is how long you've been on this regimen of diet and exercise. If you just started last week, give it a little time. There is a lot going on in your statement above; the body might not have adjusted yet.

Having said that, I would suggest that you keep a food diary for 1 week. Write down everything that you are eating and drinking, but do not write down or figure out the caloric intake for these foods and drinks.

After the week is over then sit down and figure out how many calories you are taking in on an average day. How much is Fat, Carbohydrates, and Proteins?

You can go to this site: http://www.nutritiondata.com/ to find out more about the foods you are eating and what the nutritional value is in your daily diet.

There could be something in your diet that is impacting the outcome, such as, "energy drinks" (ie-"sugar water"). Then again it could be that you are very healthy and aren't in need of losing those 10 lbs.

Maybe your entire lifestyle needs to change.

The food that you eat is 100% certified organic? If not then make the switch. Yes it's more expensive but the cost of fixing yourself later will be higher.

There is also some good information here:

Go ahead and try some techniques (some very unusual) - nothing is for sale...:)

your probably not losing because your at the weight you need to be already.
if your doing all of this and you haven't lost anything, cut back by 100 calories a day.

(it's the caloric intake that you need to watch)

good luck

You don't say how long you've been doing this. It takes time. Maybe a month or so. Just keep it up, you will see results sooner or later. Good luck and God bless!

How many calories total are you consuming? Sometimes those "healthful" meals really add up in calories, esp. if you're eating 5 or 6 of them.

Maybe go to the doctors and have them test your blood, even try finding out your blood type and find out what foods will help you lose weight with your blood type.
