My daughter is 24yrs old and has been suffering from her eyelashes falling out, they grow back then she gets a swelling at the folical base and the eyelash falls out leaving her eyelid bare, does anyone know what this maybe and more importantly can this be treated and how, i have looked on the web and have come across something called Demodex folliculorum, eyelid mite, has anyone heard or suffered from this, i would be so gratefull of any advise or help, she finds this condition unbearable.

Eyelid mites are something everyone has, they are not meant to make your eyelashes fall out. They eat the dust that gets trapped in between you eyelashes when you blink. Maybe she wears too much mascara and false eyelashes? That happened to my friend once.

I would have her thyroid checked. Hair loss, especially eyebrows is common, but lashes I'm not sure.

seek medical help please.could be a condition called alpecia,dont no if it is spelt right.could be serious.
