I have had swollen lymph nodes befor everytime I get a cold sore and the doctor said it was OK, but now both lymph nodes under my jaw are swollen. I have had a cold for the last day of two and that is around when they became swollen. This has never happend when I was sick befor. I just want to see if this is serious or if it happens sometimes.
By the way my cold symptomes are:
slight fever
sore throat
stuffy nose
aches and pains thrughout my body

I just found out that my dad might have lung cancer. The doctor said it was likely, but they have to run more tests. If anyone reading this has been through this themselves or with a loved one, can you tell me, what does "might" mean, when it comes to cancer? Is it really more likely that he does have it, then doesn't, if they are testing for it? Or is it a 50/50 type thing?

I take birth control pills so that means I should not get my period early. Well since yesterday I have been bleeding just a little here and there. My period should not start until next week. Last month I got my period on time but it was very unusual and it was lighter then normal. What would cause this?

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by life?

I'm a married mom with a 4 year old son. I work full-time at my night shift job so I can pay my bills and finance my home-based business. While my husband is at work during the evenings, I take care of my son and do my business from home. Lately, I have had no energy to do what is required. I had to take time off from my job because of illness (bronctitis) and because of that, I'm losing money. There's no paid sick days at my job.

It may be SAD because in the spring/summer, I had more energy. I wish I can quit my job and just have my business to look after, but I still have past and current financial issues. My friend tries to help me with some of the administrative tasks from her home, but I can't afford to hire someone on a full-time basis. If I take a day job, I still have to pay a babysitter to look after my son, which means more money to pay out.

My parents don't live close by and I don't want to burden them for babysitting.

I have changed my diet to a high fiber diet, I excersize everyday, and I am on the pill. I don't drink, don't smoke. I consider myself pretty healthy. Yet and still my PMS symptoms have only gotten worse. I am getting dibilitating migraines, sick to my stomach, sadness, sleepless nights, irritability, cravings, etc for about 10 days now. I talked to my doctor's RN about migraines. She told me I should see my regular doctor (not the OBGYN) which made no sense to me because I KNOW they are PMS related. She also told me the meds can make people sick. I am that person who would probably get sick. I talked to my doctor last year about the pill, and he told me to let them adjust to my system. I still don't know if it is pill related. What else should I do? I like my OBGYN, but he is often NOT available for questions. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?
I feel like my hands are tied and no one takes me seriously.

they shower about twice a week and wash their hair only once a week. that way they keep their natural body oils, they're rarely sick and the dutch kids don't have headlice. i think it's because of the legal weed, the fresh air and the cycling. are you dutch? if so how often do you shower and rinse your hair?

( SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE) i have this horrible obsession with how i look but mosty how much i weigh. (no im not anorexic) I feel like a failure when i eat i feel as though i just gained a pound even if it's a healthy food. I count my calories but i tend to over exaggerate like if i eat an apple i put it down for 115 calories so ill feel like i ate alot already and eat less. i'v been so obsessed with my weight im almost living off water! I also look in the mirror A LOT now and i hate how i look both my weight and i think im ugly. I broke a mirror once cuz i couldn't stand how i looked. I want to know what can cause such low self esteem.

I went to the doctors after i blanked out after a night out. i was hysterical and under stress. i didnt want to tell my doctor what i happened because i didnt want them to check me out. i knew i needed emergency contraception just in case so i made up that me and boyfriend had unprotected sex- i went home and found out my friends had taken care of me the entire night and now i dont want my gp thinking that my lie was true. should i go to the doctors and explain what happened so that they can change my record- can they even change my record? and most worryingly will they prosecute me for lying to a doctor and obtaining contraception under the circumstances? i was really really stressed and now im worrying about keeping things as they are-please help as much as you can. Thank you.
