( SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE) i have this horrible obsession with how i look but mosty how much i weigh. (no im not anorexic) I feel like a failure when i eat i feel as though i just gained a pound even if it's a healthy food. I count my calories but i tend to over exaggerate like if i eat an apple i put it down for 115 calories so ill feel like i ate alot already and eat less. i'v been so obsessed with my weight im almost living off water! I also look in the mirror A LOT now and i hate how i look both my weight and i think im ugly. I broke a mirror once cuz i couldn't stand how i looked. I want to know what can cause such low self esteem.

sweetie, what you just described is exactly how an anorexic feels.
1. worried constantly about weight
2. feelings of failure
3. counting calories (and overexaggerating them!)
4. looking in the mirror constantly
i'm not sure how old you are, sweetie, but you need to talk to someone about this before it gets more out of control. trust me, anorexia is not fun road - it ruined my life for far too many years. there is help out there - reach out for it to someone in real life.
i wish you luck and congrats on admitting this is a problem. now take the next step and ask for help!

First of all, I am going to throw out a disclaimer that this is opinion and should not be substituted for a professionals, but I like to help so here goes.
1. You need to forget about weight - it's relative, you can weigh 130 and be skinny or you can weigh 130lbs and be a fat *** - height and body makeup would be determining factors. So to focus solely on weight is an error on your part and something you are causing yourself undo stress over. Forget about weight it is just a number.
2. Working out and drinking lots of water is the best thing anyone ANYONE can do for their body.
3. Doing the above is even better for your mind than it is your body. Think of it like this, everytime you want to look in the mirror, do some pushups or situps or jogging in place - anything that would be considered exercise rather than looking in the mirror.
4. If you follow steps 2 and 3, your appetite is going to nearly double. Counting the calories is futile, unless you are looking to weight gain (muscle- body building extent) otherwise just eat small meals everytime you are hungry. Getting caught up in Breakfast Lunch and Dinner is a big mistake for a lot of people. They eat too much at each sitting thinking that it will keep them from craving something in between, when they'd be better eating small snacks (healthy like yogurt and granola) everytime they get hungry.
My water and working out advice is based on when I worked out routinely - I was 9% body fat and could bench press over 100lbs my body weight (which I will not mention due to #1).

You should talk to your parents ( prefarably your mother)
I sometimes think the same way and I'm not fat at all. It's a woman thing cause just when you think you look great you'll see another girl with a body that's better than yours. but from waht you say I imagine that you are in great shape.
DON'T LIVE OFF OF WATER. the thing to remember when you want to get in shape is don't cut things out of your diet. It's not healthy. Just do things in moderation. Try checking out your BMI. I bet that will give you a boost. It tells you how much you should weigh and usually you'll be right on the dot with a heathly weight!
skipping meals also contributes to weight gain. if you go without eatting you'll eat more in one sitting because you're basically starving yourself.
I've been there done that.
hope this helps.

maybe you focus on your weight most because it is something that you can control...Perhaps there are other things that have happened or are happening that you feel pretty helpless in...You have to love yourself..I already think that I love you.. Funny, I know, I don't even know you but I can feel for you. You've got to take care of yourself and eating some food isn't gonna hurt you. I'm 99% sure of this. Honest. I hope you feel better soon.
P.S. Well Happy Birthday early then....& I like what John P said.

I suggest perhaps you see a therapist about this, this could lead to a very big problem in the future, you need to fix this before you do become anorexic. This is a serious matter and should be taken care of immediately.

You seem to be suffering from low self-esteem. You're not comfortable with the way you look because you are trying to live up to a certain ideal of beauty that does not fit your natural look. If you continue to idolize that perception of beauty, you will always have this problem. It's better to learn to love yourself as you are.
