I'm writing a story, and one character needs to commit suicide. (Sad, I know, but it's a bad guy.) Is 10 minutes a long enough time to have him bleed out? Is it too much time, not long enough? I need this to be as realistic as possible.

I was diagnosed with depression and for a long time i didnt feel like do anything or talking . But lately i just get a sudden burst of energy but only in talking not like a physical enegery. Where i'm just asking a lot of questions about everything, and just talking about random things. Now i know some might say it might be bipolar but i heard bipolar is when you get very happy along with the Physical enery which is not the case for me (because im not happy i'm still depressed even when the burst of energy comes and second once again its not a physical energy) Is this ok or is this another problem?

Hi, Im a 17 year old male that weighs 180 pounds. I know that I am overweight and need to do something about it. The question is what types of things can I do to keep in shape. The conditions are that I am a very distracted person, almost ADD status. The good thing is, though, that once I get a habit, good or bad, I stick to it for a long time. My habits now include school, internet, eating, homework, talking on the phone, and instant messaging. That about covers 95% of my routine. Can anyone give me small, but effective, tips to lose ~20-30 lbs of weight, anything to give me more self-confidence. THANKS!

Can this feel like a panic attack or that you are really dizzy and high with your heart beating really fast? Last Night I think I almost had a heart attack after eating sweets, it was so scary and i was so weak all day, then I think it's my imagination and get a craving for sweets and it starts again..I can feel my vision blurring and my head hurting right now ...How can I stop this? I have been made to feel that this is all in my head but the symtoms happen every time and are getting worse....I don't want to go to the doctor and have my test come out okay, I'll feel like an idiot and then that will confirm it's all in my head, but if I don't do something i'm afraid i'll die.But i can't stand doctors and I am so stubborn.so what now? Also what was the scariest thing that ever happened to you when your sugar went too low or too high?

I hear that if you are feeling nautius (not sure how to spell!) you should nibble on an apple. And that this one lady did that whenever she felt nautius and hasn't thrown up in over 30 years. Does this really work? Or what are other ways to prevent throwing up?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I do. When I get really hungry, I feel faint (but not faint enough to actually faint physically), I cannot think and of course, I become extremely irritable and instantly depressed.

Is this common?

Or do I have not enough fat in my body (fat helps animals survive without food)?

Is this linked to depression or some other physical ailment?

I am nearing 40 years now and getting disturbed to read and write. But I have no problem seeing objects which are at a distance. Even to read, if I hold the paper little away (say 40 ~ 45 cms) from eye, its comfortable. Is it a normal one? Will there be a correction for this or I need to go for a glass? Will this be corrected over ages? Do I really need to wear a glass now? What if I avoid to wear a glass and try to manage with little difficulties?

Medical boffins are working on a male contraceptive pill which could be taken as a one-off dose just before a date, but would allow the man's fertility to return to normal, with no side effects, within a few hours.

Is it about time men popped a pill for protection against unwanted pregancies?

My father has sleep apnea. I am a heavy sleeper, quick to fall asleep and extremely difficult to wake up. I do not know if I stop breathing. I have low energy levels throughout the day. I ask this because a friend of mine works as a doctor's office manager, and she said it sounds like sleep apnea. I am waiting on medical insurance before I find a doctor to go to. If anyone knows anything about the sleep apnea or heavy sleeping, and can give some input, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am not pregnant and i know this for a fact. I'm on medication right now to fight away at some cysts on my ovaries. The doctors have not yet diagnosed me with anything. While very worried due to my condition i keep getting new symptoms...my breasts are also very sore and tender and my right breast is leaking a thick mucous. Has anyone experienced anything like this, and if so does this sound like something that could be linked to cancer?

I've had the same psychiatrist for 4years who diagnosed me with hypomania. I took lithobid and an antidepressent faithfully for 3 years. The medicine did not help me and I never really fit into the "hypomanic" signs and symptoms. I finally got off the meds for the last year and saw a psychologist instead. I realize now that I have anxiety that I learned to control through my psychologist. However, I still see the psychiatrist and he keeps telling me that I will never get better. He really wants me to keep taking the meds. Also, he told me that I should never take antidepressents without lithobid because I could have a mania (which I've never had). Then, last month he told me I SHOULD take an antidepressent to help me sleep. Apparently there's an anitdepressent out there that helps people sleep? This is really making no sense to me. Can anyone explain? Should I even keep seeing him since I was misdiagnosed and do not take medications anymore?
