Medical boffins are working on a male contraceptive pill which could be taken as a one-off dose just before a date, but would allow the man's fertility to return to normal, with no side effects, within a few hours.

Is it about time men popped a pill for protection against unwanted pregancies?

I support it. The more protection the better. Why should the onus be on women to protect against unwanted pregnancy. It takes two to tango.

Although, as stated below, I would feel safer with my pill taking responsibility. In other words, if he is taking the pill, I will NOT stop taking mine.

i think its a great idea. i think that with the female pill would be awesome. i'm kind of paranoid about getting pregnant and i know my boyfriend is too. however, to give some guys credit, they are basically already expected to carry condoms which is same as what this is. i'm not sure i trust a pill that you just have to pop that day....men are constantly producing their little swimmers. i would have more faith in something they had to take everyday, more like the female version. but that begs the question, what are the long term effects of that form of birth control? i think it initially sounds good but i think i'll keep using my pill and i should hope that people still use condoms because no pill can protect against viruses or infections.

surprising question Mark! I so accept as true with you, of direction i'm older, so I want a guy, a real guy. yet I somewhat have a feeling that those days are long previous, a minimum of for now. someplace between the 70's when I have been given married and the present day the lads as they improve up look coddled extra by ability of Mommy, and then even whilst they flow away the homestead, they seem to coach and ask Mommy to do plenty for them, that they have not a clue the thank you to stand on their own 2 feet. i think of lots of it has to do with interior the "older" days, you registered for the draft, served your u . s . a ., and got here homestead as "adult adult males". i can in basic terms wish that the actual adult adult males return - quickly! this is okay to be being concerned, and feeling, yet can no longer you be adult adult males on the comparable time?

I'd be too afraid of it not working. After all, men produce millions of sperm, how could a pill possibly stop ALL of them? I'd be more trusting of the female pill, since we only produce one egg each month -- that's a lot easier to control!

i think a pill for men would be more likely to be harmful, but I really am all for men taking just as much responsibilty as women for pregnacies. Women get frowned upon for being single mothers, but what about the losers that just leave them?

Sounds good to me.

But gotta be careful thou because we can't be trusting just any guys. Like... having thorough exam on the guy to check if he's responsible enough to take the meds.

Because if he forgets to take one, we're screwed! We'll be the one to carry a baby for 9 months!

Yes it is about time they started taking responsibility for the protection for a change.

You got that right girl. Give them some responsibility. Let them share the irritation of thinking, did I take my pill today?

i think its going to be great!!! i cant wait till it comes out!!

but the only down fall is...think abotu all the peoopel that will have more unprotected sex. since they can how relase intot he partner and have the full feeling without the disruption of the condom....i think it will give peoopel a false sense.... more stds going around...but i think it will be good to have !
