Ginger, or ginger-ale. Ginger is a natural stomach calmer. The doc told me to do it for the kids if they get sick. Also I think breathing in a bag in and out a few times can help reset yourself. But I know the ginger-ale works for sure. I have tried it.

Nausea has a LOT of different causes, and you don't actually want to suppress vomiting in all cases.
When your stomach gets queasy, it is generally from one of two causes.
First, you may have developed a gastro-intestinal infection (or ingested something poisonous) and your body wants to expel whatever is in your stomach. This is a GOOD thing; you don't want to suppress vomiting in this case.
Second, your inner ear is being massively disturbed by something. Motion sickness and vertigo are the most common causes, but an ear infection can to it also. In this case, suppressing the feeling of nausea is a great idea, because vomiting may not may you feel better at all (ask anybody who has been seasick, and you will understand the saying that "seasickness won't kill you -- you'll just wish it would").
Here is a pretty good link: http://firstaid.about.com/od/abdominaldisorders/qt/06_nausea.htm
And finally, the correct spelling (regardless of what previous responders have written) is "nauseous."

I grew up Minnesota where it was said, "An apple a day, keeps the Doctor away". We were also taught that throwing up was a mind problem which was fixable by not being personal with things, you might want to try it yourself, think of writing a letter next time you get the urge to up-chuck.

Carbonated drinks work to alleviate nausea, as do crackers. I hadn't heard of the apple trick before, but it can be really surprising what helps you feel better.
Personally, if I feel sick, I just go with it, because I feel better after I throw up. But, that's just me. Some people feel like vomiting is a fate worse than death. :)
Btw, it's nauseated. Nauseas actually refers to something that makes you feel nauseated. But a lot of people use them interchangeably. It makes me giggle a little when someone says they are nauseas, especially if they *do* make me sick. :)

I really think it has to do with the fact that you must be in excellent health. Your immune system is in great shape to be able to shake off various stomach bugs for 30 years. Perhaps the apple is not warding off nausea but keeping your health in tip-top shape.
Good day to you.
