My son is hypoglycaemic and has the same symptoms you describe.
It is food controlled and very manageable...
He also becomes unreasonable and tearful if it goes to far....i guess he loses all ability to be rational, maybe what you consider losing your mind.
Might be worth getting a blood test at the docs to determine if this is the problem....but short term, make sure you have a snack handy to eat at all times. Glucose tablets work a treat in an emergency and small to carry in your pocket!
Have a good Christmas!

You present all the symptoms of the condition called Hypoglycemia. This is an inherited condition which runs in families, so you probably have a relative who has the same symptoms to a greater or lesser degree. As you mention, it manifests itself through dizziness, feeling faint, absent mindedness, woolly thinking, irritability and mild depression when you have been without food for a while. It is neither diabetes nor depression and any fat in your body will not really help you. It simply means that your levels of blood sugar have been depleted and become low. You probably find that you immediately start to feel better when you have eaten and particularly if you have absorbed something sweet.
It is not a dangerous condition like diabetes and it is managed easily by immediately chewing a glucose tablet,or having a sweet drink. You have to be careful not to eat too many sweet things to satisfy cravings and the desire to keep a clear mind, otherwise you will put on weight. Small meals at regular intervals are the recommended procedure to avoid the symptoms.
By all means go to your doctor who will arrange for blood tests at regular intervals throughout a period of time to monitor your blood sugar levels. You will find that he or she recommends the same solutions as described above.

Your body needs fuel to function, if you don't give it enough or give it the wrong thing it doesn't work 100%.
It sounds like you maybe having a sugar dip, try eating more complex carbohydrates and steer clear of the instant energy like sweets and sugar.
I used to have really bad hunger pangs which would make me feel physically sick until I went on a diet I dropped my calorie intake significantly but I was eating better foods and I rarely get it now!

Well it's normal to get a little crazy when you have not eaten like two meals, but if you're just missing one meal i'd say you probably need more fat on you, that's not linked to depression or other disorders that I know

Yes, and it's probably your blood sugar. You can see a doctor to make sure you are not hypo-glycemic. Sometyimes the doc can't make it happen on a blood test, and you just have to make sure you don't get too hungry.
This happens to my autistic son. He gets totally out of control.

its the low blood sugar. suck on a lolly while you wait for food and you should notice the effect of "madness" changes. I get angry when I am hungry, the imbalance affects people differently

when you are that hungry, you are staving your whole body of many things, and it will effect you metabolism
blood to brain/energy to limbs.ect.
don't get that hungry again, as it could effect you liver/kidneys/and other organs.
long term it could stop you having children.

have yourself tested for diabetes and/or hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
Sounds like you have a physical reaction that is not "normal"

low blood sugar can cause "crazy" symptoms.
go to your Doctor ...tell them your symptoms and eating habits.
If you feel hungry ...EAT....if you feel REALLY hungry...you are depriving your body what it needs to function properly.
