Removal of IUD (Mirena) is usually easier and less painful than insertion. Your physician will take some of the same preliminary steps done for insertion, such as determining the position of the uterus. Once the strings are located, he or she will use a clamp to grab them and slowly pull the IUD out. The flexible arms of the T will fold up again as the device comes through the cervical canal.

If the strings can't be found, they may be just inside the cervical canal. The doctor may try to coax them out of your cervix with cotton-tipped swabs. If that fails, he or she will need to use a uterine sound again. Once the device is located, the physician will extract it with a pair of tweezer-like clamps. If this too fails, sonography may be necessary to locate the IUD.

There may be heavy bleeding after removal of IUD even done by a meidcal practioner. Because youare removing after some tim it is settled removing it yourself is not adviseable and please go to your doctor and she will do it without any problem and also advice you if any thing found. Never do it yourself. I do not think removal will cost you anything more. Proper removal will help you to get pregnet.

Best of luck-

NO!!! it is absolutely not OK. You really need to have a clinician do it. There can be serious complications if it isn't done correctly, complications that could potentially hinder your ability to have children! It is a relatively easy procedure for them, but it could get reallllly uncomfortable and nasty if you try and something happens like: it breaks and you can't get the rest, if you puncture your uterus, or your cervix. it is a sterile procedure for them, and you can't ensure that for yourself.

Plus, you should see a clinician if you are planning to have kids anyways. S/he can start you on prenatal pills (you really need to boost up on the folate BEFORE you become pregnant), and go through any questions/concerns you have about getting pregnant. It may take a few months for you to ovulate again after being on hormones.

good luck, and PLEASE have a clinician do it!!

A lot of couples think that getting pregnant is an easy task. They think that they can hold off being parents until their late 20s or early 30s and still get pregnant. Here's a fact: by the time you reach 30, you only have a 50-60% chance of becoming a mother. This is not to say that you should become parents right away, but chances become slimmer as time passes by. But it is not entirely impossible, so don't despair. Here are some tips on how to get pregnant fast.

First, get yourself a pre-conception checkup. By doing this, it will prepare you for the other tips on how to get pregnant fast. Set up an appointment with your doctor to tell your plans on conceiving. This will help them determine whether you have past medical issues that might affect your pregnancy. Your doctor will probably ask you to start taking folic acid. Why? To get pregnant, you need to think you're pregnant. The power of the mind is really an incredible thing. Also, this reduces the risk of neural tube defect when you give birth to your baby.

Second is to change your lifestyle. As mentioned earlier, you have to start thinking for your baby instead of just you. If you are a coffee drinker, you should start giving it up. Some studies have indicated that caffeine may contribute to fertility problems. Also, it can restrict the growth of your baby once you are pregnant. If you regularly exercise, you should start reducing the amount of hours you devote to it. Stress can lead to failed conceptions and by reducing the stress level, you increase your chances of getting pregnant.

So far we've covered easy tips on how to get pregnant fast. Now, we'll discuss the fun tips on how to get pregnant fast. When it comes to love making, add a little bit of excitement by switching rooms or adding toys. This will help your body feel more relaxed and therefore add chances to a successful conception. Also, during the days when the woman is fertile, try to have as much sex as you can. The more times you do it, the more chances you have to get pregnant.

These are some of the many tips on how to get pregnant fast. There is so much material available but hopefully these simple and fun steps will pave the road to your dream of becoming a parent.

NO do not remove yourself.Or let your husband pull it out with a pair of pliers from his tool box.LOL,you could tear your inner lining and cause bleeding and infection. Also your DR can tell you when is the best time to conceive. It takes time for the medication to be removed from your body to be safe for a child.

I know someone that pulled their's out- they were told to do it during their period- it comes out very easy- pull the string-line - cord = whatever you want to call it- I have never heard of puncture during removal- only during insertion == or becoming ingrown if left in for too many years-D

Nope...not ok to remove yourself. It will put you at risk of infection.
You need to be in a sterile environment to have it removed. Just like you did when you had it put in. If you arent sure...call your Doctor.
