Its weird, I almost always feel so happy in my dreams that when I wake up I feel dissapointed that I am back to reality, does anyone else ever feel like this? Why am I happier when I am sleeping than when I am awake?

My husband is four years post Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He completed 12 rounds of chemo and 22 radiation treatments, and is in remission. The chemo damaged some heart muscle and he has developed an arrythmia for which he takes a daily beta blocker. His last two CAT scans, six months apart, have revealed two swollen lymph nodes. His white blood count is normal, however; his red blood count is unusually high (he takes a baby aspirin for that). What are some possible explanations for the two swollen nodes? Could the cancer be recurring?

My friend has severe depression. She cuts herself and has even told me that she is planning to kill herself by the end of the year. I've told her parents and they are trying to make her get help, but she won't take it! I call her every night and see her every weekend to try to help her, but she never talks to me on the phone for more than 2 minutes, and she just sits in her room and dosen't really talk to me while I am there. I'm really scared for her and dont want her to kill herself. How else can I help her?

Ive had enough with trying to lose weight. I am 6'1 and 235 pounds. I am sick and tired of the hypocracies . I have been trying for almost a year and havent lost a pound. So why bother ! I am no less than anyone else because I am overweight. . Its sad because that is the reaction that I get from most people. For me, when someone says or mentions I am over wieght , it not all they are saying. Its like saying Im not worth being happy or beautiful or smart.
The media makes it seems the skinny=happiness and overweight=depression . You dont see skinny people being harrassed to run to the gym because they are "healthy" which is a crock.
I used to feel bad because I am overweight compared to my friends. That I couldnt get a boyfriend or get ahead in life. I have a boyfriend and I have men all around me. I am very intelligent and am going to school . So why should I worry
I know that I would get the odd responce (like my money hungry trainer ) Its for you to be healthy in later life. But I am healhty now and will continue to be. I just dont think that killing myself in a gym and being unconfortable all the time is worth it so that I can walk on a beach in total confidence. I have done that already when i was in Cuba and I had all the confidence in the world. So what do you think ?

I have a good husband, lovely kids, a job I like, a nice home, good friends... Ok not a lot of money but apart from that... I feel miserable but not necessarily depressed. More of an existentialist anxiety. I look at things and think that nothing is ever going to last, that everything I do could be the last time and so on.... Maybe I am depressed although I am active which does not fit in with being depressed! I exercise, go out with friends and do a lot of organising so what the hell is wrong with me? Please try and be helpful instead of calling me a miserable cow!!!

Does anyone else feel this way?

Thanks

I just got my contacts yesterday and managed to put them in and take them out at the doctor's office. However last night was a trail by fire. It took me over an HOUR to get them out, I wanted someone to just kill me. When I finally got them off, my eyes were practically bleeding and gooey.
You contact wearers out there, is there some reassurance that in time removing contacts will become easier with practice?

Also, any tips for getting them off? For some reason I have a VERY strong blink reflex if I accidentally touch my upper eyelashes. (which puts the lense right back and place and restarts the ordeal of removal)!!

My husband was shot in the face many years before I met him. It destroyed most of his gums. Lately, he has expressed a desire to improve his physical appearance and I would really like to help him. We live in the Caribbean but can travel if necessary.
