I have a mild gum infection and next month, I start my first treatment for it. I have now been vigorously using my new electronic toothbrush on my teeth as well as flossing twice every day. My mom bought a thingy of listerine to gargle with. My question is:

...does listerine lessen the severity of a gum infection? My dad said it would but I'm not so sure (heck my dad isn't even a dentist).

Can I also ask the dentist to use novocaine for my treatment?

I know every woman is different, so what works for one might not work for another. But I was curious to see which pills women have had positive experiences with. I have tried Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo, Ovcon 35, Yasmin, and Yaz (low dose yasmin). I have had TERRIBLE side effects with all of them. On Ortho, my complexion went crazy after the first 3 months...I once had about 60 zits at the same time! I never had skin problems as a teenager, so this was really bad for me. On Ovcon, I gained 15 pounds and had an uncontrollable appetite. On Yasmin, I continued weight gain and developed super-dry skin...it looked like eczema, especially around my mouth and nose. I couldn't touch my face without skin peeling off. I have only been on Yaz for a month now, but I can already feel my face getting drier, and I have been eating a lot more. Maybe my body is just not cut out for the pill! I would love to hear others' experiences though...what you used and what, if any, were the bad side effects.

The pain, esp. at night, is horrible. i've never experienced the like. It burns in my "stomach" and gut - then up through my chest and in my back. This "pain/agony" lasts throughout the night (esp.) - I wake up, feel the dull-clunk of pain in gut...
What is this? It's happened to me during the past 2-3 months...Absolutely hurts...

What are the possibilities for treating an enlarged prostate? Is it possible to remove the prostate with invasive surgery through the lower abdomen? Is it possible to insert a "stent" in the urethra, similar to the stent that is used for a constricted artery?
Thanks, Joe Conrad

I feel unbalanced if I step on a crack in the pavement - have to find one for the other foot to even myself out.
I have to move round people clockwise, if I go the wrong way it stays with me and I have to right it.
The volume on my tv has to be on an even number, in my car it has to be a multiple of 5.
I obsess about lining things up.
I can't wear a ring on one finger without wearing one on the same finger on the other hand.
My DVDs are ordered by age restriction, then alphabetically (drives me mad if they're out of order, I only have about 30 DVDs so this isn't too intrusive).
If I crack one knuckle, I have to crack the opposite one.
I have a set way of eating chocolates and they just aren't right if I eat them wrong.
I have to load my car boot from the left back corner, my other half takes pleasure in loading wrong to annoy me!
There are more that I don't even notice so it's hard to think of them.
Who else does these things, and what else do you do?
