Since it only abraded the top layer of skin, it is highly unlikely that a scar will result. The best thing to do after cleaning it with mild soap and water is to put an antimicrobial ointment on it until it heals such as bacitracin ointment or neosporin (both over the counter items).

First of all it depends on the thickness of the skin that left. If it was almost thin enough to see through then chances are it wont leave a scar. I wouldnt worry about it too much because you get new skin every week. thats how fast it grows.

It would leave a scar, but if he is young enough (say under 20) then in time it will nearly disappear. Just put some skin healing cream on it (Savlon is very good) and try not to pick it if a scab forms. The cream will do wonders, and it should be healed in no time. The better care you take of it now, the better it will heal.

It can get infected so you should put a band-aid over it or something. Also if you give it enough time it will not leave a scar but you will have to be patient for a while.

Get him to the emergency room. Yes, there will be a scar. Definitely cover it gently with a sterile gauze or a huge band-aid ( they have these band-aids for large scraps. It can cover a child's knee )

Your brother might need to see a cosmetic surgeon.
