What are the possibilities for treating an enlarged prostate? Is it possible to remove the prostate with invasive surgery through the lower abdomen? Is it possible to insert a "stent" in the urethra, similar to the stent that is used for a constricted artery?

There is medication available, and it is helpful. The prostate can be removed through the lower abdomen, but this is generally not the preferred surgical approach since abdominal surgery is something of a "biggie". You should speak with a urologist if you have prostate concerns. I have never heard of stents being used in the treatment of enlarged prostate.

First see an urologist. I have had problems with enlarged prostate most of my life and had difficulty urinating. I was prescribed "Flomax" and the problem with urinating stopped. But I have one other problem "prostate cancer". Yes I know of a person that had a stint placed in his urethea to help increase the urine flow, but it was taken out in a few weeks.

Joe, the first thing to do is to see a urologist. He will give you a rectal examination and take a blood sample for a PSA test. If the PSA is high, he will next perform an ultra sound examination before scheduling a biopsy. You and your urologist then have enough information to make decisions on the options available for the successful treatment to follow. Don't fool around with it. You could be dealing with your life.

There is no such thing as "allopathy" Homeopathy is nonsense, it's nothing by water and/or sugar. To those suggesting homeopathy does work, then that can be measured right? If it can be measured then the $1M JREF prize can be claimed. Why haven't you done so yet? Once you win the JREF you're in for the Nobel prize and will be responsible for the complete teardown of all the laws of medicine, physics, and chemistry. Your fame would be endless. Strange noone has bothered to claim the prize.
