There are several ways to find an affordable health insurance plan.
You could look in the yellow pages under "health insurance" and request quote and plan comparisons form a local professional agent specializing in health insurance.
Another option is to compare health insurance quotes and plans online from a quote service. They provide you with rates, deductible options, coverage options, insurance company rating information, and you can get your questions answered before applying for coverage. This way you get to compare plans and rates in the convenience of your own home without any pressure.
Two of the leading health insurance quote providers are:
1) InsureMe - they give you the five best health insurance quotes from top-rated health insurers nationwide. To Request a free, no obligation quote, Go to - http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=613598&Type=health
2) eHealthinsurance.com offers you side-by-side quote comparisons from a large network of health insurers across the country. eHealthinsurance had more than 900,000 clients in the U.S.
I hope that helps you find an affordable health insurance plan for you and your wife. Good luck to you.
P.S. - Remember to compare rates at different deductible amounts. Understand how the Co-Pay works for your policy. Review all Exclusions, expecially any Pre-Existing Condition Exclusions. Good Luck!

First of all, please understand that insurance policies differ depending on where you live as well as working situation etc. I would highly get the book "Healthcare for Less" by Michelle Katz. The book will break down all your Medicare questions as well as what you need to know about purchasing insurance in general. There are more things to consider than you think, but the book makes it an easier process. I bought the book at my local Barnes an Noble for about $15, but I founf the author had a website at www.healthcareforless.us that has a direct link to Amazon where you can by the book cheaper and get free shipping in some cases....it is worth it!!!

I have purchased my health and auto insurance from eSurance. They are wonderful because you can fill out an application and they bring all the companies' rates to you for you to decide.
