My friend's fiance has a sever breathing problem stemming from smoking to much a day. He's 28 and on oxygen tanks. His doctor says he's sacrificing his life. our daughter have been a drug addict for 18 years; she had 2 bad episodes in the last 5 years.
the last time she was in the hospital was 11-2002 with a intractranial bleeding/hemorrhagic stroke. she was in critical condition for nearly a year; we took her and her 13 year son home and we nurtured her back to health. We just found out she is doing drugs again; we are thinking of cutting her off completelly from our lives; since she continue to lie to us
and deceive us. we are too tired of
the dramma. our question is:
should we cut her off our lives???

Two years in a row, school started, there was a notice of an outbreak of head lice and within a week of the notice, my 8 year old girl got head lice.

I've asked her not to share toys, or lunch with other kids, and I can't understand how she got it twice. She is pretty adamant that she did not share.

Any thoughts how she got it? Is it really that contagious?

i have had problems with severe depression and anxiety since i was about 14. my parents were and still are very emotionally abusive and insulting to me. i am 27 now and living primarily on ssi, which is barely enough to pay cheap rent and eat. i haven't been on any medication or talked to a therapist in a few years, but the last year or so, i have been increasingly confused and unable to think clearly about many things. i have been making many very stupid decisions that i keep regretting. i think i may even have schizophrenia, altough i don't have hallucinations. this confusion and frustration i have been experiencing is making me feel suicidal a lot. the thing that keeps me from wanting to take medication is the potential negative effects it has on your body. i need to make a decision soon about whether to try medication again.

Help! I think a small fishbone about half a inch is lodged in my throat. I've tried washing it down with food and vinegar but it just won't work!! I still sometimes feel like something sharp is lodged in my throat. But most of the time, it doesn't feel like there's anything in my throat. What should I do?!

My friend came to me and said she feels toaly ashamesd guilty and viloated. While hanging out with an ex boy friend he began asking her for sex. She said no and he persisted. He told her that she owed him and that she was not being there for him when he needed it. he made her feel guilty and worthless and kept telling her if she had sex one more time with him then he would continue to be her friend snd not hate her and they would be even for the help he had given her in the past. She still continued to say no no and no and began to cry. She went to use the bath room so she could leave when she came out he was standing there and began touching her some more harrasing her for "one last time" she still protested but stoped eventualy and he took off her close and put her on the floor and started having sex with her. After a few minutes she couldnt take it and began to cry and stoped him. She says "I just stood there and let him so he would stop harrasing me" Is waht he did wrong?Or is she?

I had my braces off when i was 12. I had them on the top and bottom. I wore my retainer for years afterwards like I was supposed to. Finally my mouth grew too big for it. I'm now 24 and my front teeth are still moving a little bit. It is really upsetting because so much money was spent on braces and I did what they told me to do.

I don't want to bother paying to see if it can be fixed because I feel like I'll have to wear a retainer for the rest of my life. When do teeth stop moving???

I only take it at bed time,and first thing in am , i usually work 2nd shift.i dont think they will believe i dont take it on work hours, it is important to get this job,so i dont lose my house,what can i take so this wont show in urine?I know not to take it is the best answer but not an option at this time. med is Vicodin, please help

I've been monitoring my serum cholesterol levels for some time now. I find that Physicians like to focus on the Total Cholesterol number while sometimes ignoring the HDL numbers - which are obviously atheroprotective - and thus reduce CHD risk. There's been a lot of work done (Framingham Study, etc.) which show that the Total Cholesterol/HDL ratio correlates better with CHD risk than Total Cholesterol alone. What are your thoughts on this? I used to do it every single day, and now I did a vow to not do it for 4 weeks, and it's like the 3rd week and my emotional health is just real low. Like, I'm totally frustrated and depressed, with feelings of self-hatred and masochism.
