I've always believed that the majority of head problems can always be solved without psychiatrists. They always seem to quick to prescribe a drug or label you in a category you only show some signs of. Two of my brothers and myself all have head problems and the only real advances we've made in dealing with them was made by ourselves. The doctors and drugs did nothing.

Anyone else feel that people are becoming too quick to see a shrink and pop some pills to try and solve their problems?

My little sister has pokies. She's 11. I have definately noticed that she has been having tons of discharge (i have to do the laundry every wednesday). I have noticed that she neds to start wearing a bra, and become aware that her period is coming closer each second.

I have tried telling her this, but she wont listen to me. i don't want to tell my mom because i want her to notice and be the mother, not me.

What should I do?

Okay, I have a close friend who's been my friend for years. I know she cuts her wrists, and I have told her before that she shouldn't do it. She's finally agreed that she'll call the anonymous hotline for teenagers who cut their wrists. I thought I saw the number before, but I'm not sure. Is there even such a thing, and if there is, please, please give me the number before it's too late. She says it's just a way to "relieve her stress", but it's so dangerous. I'm scared to lose one of the best friends I've ever had, please help if you can!

Did you go under general or local anesthesia.

because i need to get mine out and the doctor said he will give me general because my teeth are under my gum and bone over it? i dono. do i need general? ALSO my doctor will be doing anasthesia himself... ive never heard of that. it will be just him..

I have a foreskin and I just noices that there's white small dots around the head of my penis. Is this normal? And on my foreskin I notice small little bumps like hair bumps, is this normal too?

My daughter is 2 years 4 months old and she doesn't even tell me that she wet or dirtied her diaper. She knows what the toilet is and how it works and what the toilet paper is for but she never goes on the potty when I or the daycare workers try. She's very smart and I'm wondering if she just isn't ready. I just don't want her to turn 3 and not be potty trained.

PS - I'm definitely not trying to rush her and I respect her if she doesn't want to sit on the potty. I'm trying hard but feel like Im getting nowhere.

Hey, I am 17 years old, almost 18, and on my way to my Senior Year at High school. During my Junior Year, I had a diffucult time thinking while I i was studying or taking a test, or even in the middle of a class. When it gets quiet, my Mind just drifts off into a meaningless chain of thought... until there is a significant amout of noise that gets me out of it. This also happens when I'm thinking. I failed most of my classes this way, and lowered my GPA terribly.

I read things about ADD and ADHD, I am not sure which I have, because I just can't pay attention to anything anymore... Am I not eating right? Am I not excersising enough? Am I thinking too much? I am at my wits end, and i need to concentrate this Senior Year to get into the college I want!
