Many people ignore the navel, this is a disgusting overlook. Clean the navel every time you take a shower, which should be at least once a day. Wet a finger, rub it on soap, and "make love to" your navel for a few seconds. Rinse. If an index finger hurts, start with a pinky finger, or even with a Q-tip. It may hurt at first, but trust me, you get used to it.

Some time ago I devolped an itch on my belly button,it drove me crazy. After 3 months I went to see the Doctor and he fished out a living organism, problem solved, but I had caught it on a visit to an Indian Ocean Island. You must seek the attention of a capable Medic and have it cleaned out.It may get worse.for your own peace of mind and 30 secs of your time the problem will go away.Good luck and please dont worry too much.

You need to clean it on a regular basis, the smell is just from soap collecting in it. Use a cotton swab with a bit of lotion and clean it, Make sure you don't stick it in too far.
