“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1:29-30

"The early Christian fathers adhered to a meatless regime...many early Christian groups supported the meatless way of life.

In fact, the writings of the early Church indicate that meat eating was not officially allowed until the 4th century, when the Emperor Constantine decided that his version of Christianity would be the version for everyone.

A meat eating interpretation of the Bible became the official creed of the Roman Empire, and vegetarian Christians had to practice in secret or risk being put to death for heresy.

Is it ironic that Pagan Rome has had such an influence upon present day Christianity?

I'm trying to go vegetarian (or if possible, vegan) but I'm worried about nutrient loss. I know you can get all sorts of vegan foods such as soy milk and tofu that replace the nutrients found in meat, but I'm almost too lazy to check every single thing I eat for sufficient nutrients (or let food rule my life that much). Will simply taking a multivitamin be sufficient?

I was just wondering what you thought. And also which one's better health wise. I would cook stuff, but our stove hasn't been working for a while, so I can only cook in the microwave.

Also some good Vegetarian recipies would be appreciated, but they have to be microwavable.

Thanks

=)

Oh God I am bawling. I am a veggie but I might go Vegan now. Please don't be cold-hearted about this, because even if you eat meat,
1.You shouldn't be in this category.
2.This is just WRONG. No matter what you think.
3. If you think this is OK, you really need to consider if this was you.

We've seen the 50 billion questions asking for healthy vegan foods, but what are the LEAST healthy vegan foods you can think of? (That are still edible, of course, we know arsenic is technically vegan but it doesn't count for this question.)
We've got our old standbys... over-processed fake meats, sugary cakes, sodas, cereals with cartoon characters on them...
But I'm looking for new, exciting, tasty vegan foods designed to kill you slowly with a smile on your face. Deep-fried Oreos. Kool-aid pickles. Etc. Give me your worst!

Once my friend decided to become vegan, she gradually became more difficult to stand. Firstly she joined Peta2 which I won't even go into... Then it was just little things like, in ballet she was playing with someone's shoes and said, "Wait, is this leather? Ew...I touched it!" and made a face like she was going to be sick. When we were watching the movie Happy Feet, there was a part when the lost penguin was stuck out in a storm and needed shelter, and he saw a house with a fire inside and started walking towards it. My friend turned to me and said in a very sad and serious tone, "You know, since I'm a vegan, if that penguin came to my door I would give him shelter, but if a normal person answered the door they would think: 'Food!!'". These are just a few examples.

Why must vegans do this? Do they actually think they're converting people to veganism when they act like snobs? All people are thinking when you act so upperclass is, "Wow, if that's how vegans act, I'm glad I'm not one!

So I absolutely love enchiladas but I'm a vegetarian. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good veggie chicken I can shred up and use instead of real meat. Also, is there such a thing as cheap vegan cheese? All I've ben able to find is a pack of like five slices for $3. That's way too expensive for me.

Do vegans use any type of medication? I only ask this because all medications are animal tested before release to human consumers. How do you justify Tylenol or chemotherapy?

It took a civil war to free the slaves. What will it take to free the animals? Do you think they will ever be freed?

I know I will fight for them every day of my life. It is my dream that they will be free.
