yes, i do know the difference between vegie and vegan so dont start telling me all of that.

but did you know that as milk is filtered through the cows body is collects bits of blood and other things from the body, so its not really suitable for veggies, did you know this? do you hink there should be some kind of warning on the bottles saying this is the case?

My 15-year-old daughter and I are ready to take the important step from vegetarian to vegan eating. If you have any words of advice, I would surely appreciate it. I know our food options will narrow, but sacrificing so little to help save an animal is worth it.

seriously i see so many people answer and ask questions in this section that insults our lifestyle so tell me why
i know some vegetarians/vegans will shove their lifestyles in your face and if they do then feel free to insult them, but not all of us do that
i never ask, or try to get anyone else to become a veggie
i believe its your choice, but if you do theirs no reason to even look in this section cause most of you cant help
its our choice and as for as im concerned we're goin to be healthier then meat eaters anyway

so tell me why people insist on trying to bring us down

Ok so after spending a great deal of time in prayer and research I can not and will not eat another living animal or it's by products. Any recommendations on my new vegan life style? I plan on buying a cook book. I love Italian and Japanese. By the way what do you eat when you go to non vegan restaurant?

what types of vegetarians are there? what are their diets? the only meats I currently eat now are usually just chicken. sometimes beef, but not a lot of it. and a question for those vegetarians out there: when did you decide to be a vegetarian? Was it hard at first? I am Chinese, and my mom is vietnamese so whenever she makes these AMAZING soups it has beef in it and my dad is Chinese and he is very into cooking, and he makes really good meals with meat in it. AHH..!

One of the volunteers in our animal rights came to one of our meetings with a leather purse. She actually left the leather purse in her car and carried in a hemp purse. However, when I was walking out to my car, I saw her leather purse. When I said something to her about it, she said it was her friends.

I have spoke with the rest of the group and we know where she lives and I said we should picket at her driveway entrance. I have already made up some signs showing photos of cows that have been skinned. I am just frustrated that we have a member who would even own a leather purse. I am so angry right now. I told the group we should demand answers from her right now!!!

I am vegan and have been for 3 years. I was lacto-ovo vegetarian for 11. So I already have MY reasons for not consuming dairy products. But I was wondering, what OTHER vegans' reasons would be for avoiding dairy products in particular. Links and sources would be greatly appreciated.

[once again I am trying to give a "valid reason" to family/friends for why I don't eat certain things, and "moral reasons" just isn't good enough lol... though of course this changes nothing]

I tried some soy sausage patties and some chorizo that was meatless(made from soy)..and both really didnt taste nearly as bad as I thought. How do they make meat substitutes out of soy and tofu? Is it good for you? and what do they do to make it that way? thanks!

I'm 17 and live with my mom, and she is more than a little worried about this. She wants to know where I'm going to get protein. She wants to know how much I need of protein and fat, and how many calories I need. Isn't it the same as a non-vegetarian diet? I'm having trouble finding the exact information my mom wants, any info or websites would be greatly welcomed. Thanks!

I am vegetarian and I don't want to eat eggs at all. I do eat a lot of bread and pasta and I know that they cantain egg but the thought of eating a scrambled or hard boiled egg is not for me. I do notice a big strength difference in myself after stopping eating eggs. Any suggestions?
