seriously i see so many people answer and ask questions in this section that insults our lifestyle so tell me why
i know some vegetarians/vegans will shove their lifestyles in your face and if they do then feel free to insult them, but not all of us do that
i never ask, or try to get anyone else to become a veggie
i believe its your choice, but if you do theirs no reason to even look in this section cause most of you cant help
its our choice and as for as im concerned we're goin to be healthier then meat eaters anyway
so tell me why people insist on trying to bring us down

It's just like the rabid Christians out there. Not all Christians are annoying, hateful people, but the ones that are, are the ones we see and hear about in the news, and they give the whole group a bad image. It's the same way with vegetarians and vegans. The only ones we see are what I call the vegenazis, who feel it's okay to shove their beliefs about diet down everyone else's throats.

It quite relies upon on the persons. yet my mom is an prolonged status vegetarian and my father and mother have been completely superb with it. And my dad died and my mom re-married and my step-dad isn't a vegetarian and that they are solid. yet like I reported previously, it in basic terms relies upon on the persons. i comprehend non-vegetarians do not possibly care the two way (i'm a vegetarian too), yet oftentimes as long because of the fact the non-vegetarians are respectful and visa versa, it works nicely. in case you are the non-vegetarian, do not attempt to push vegetarians to eat meat because of the fact i comprehend this is my greatest puppy peeve. Or thinking my options, or asserting it does not make experience. yet different than if the guy is disrespectful i don't see why not. yet you are able to desire to verify you separate knifes, reducing boards, and stuff like that. If a guy or woman is a vegetarian for an prolonged time, the enzyme that folk could desire to digest meat slowly stops generating and if reported vegetarian gets any variety of meat of their gadget, they are going to throw up, or get the runs. so as long as your respectful and comprehend the info i don't see how this difficulty ought to reason problems. And in case you're what i've got reported previously then you certainly won't combat (optimistically) and a marriage ought to artwork. desire I helped! :)

Also a vegetarian here.
I really think that people have the idea that all vegetarians are elitists who assume they know something better. We're stereotyped as pushy, picky, snobby weirdos who look down on non-vegetarians. It's a bad image that does us in.
Mini-rant: I saw an episode of The View where Kelly Rippa(SP?) criticized a vegetarian for having leather shoes. For the record, people are vegetarian for many different reasons, and maybe she's fine with wearing leather. Further, how can someone who consumes the product (meat) daily condemn another person for consuming the product (leather) periodically? (No getting into vegetarian/vegan politics on leather, that's not the point.)

Seem to be more nutters that are veggie-heads than sane ones. Maybe if the few sane ones I've found jumped on the obnoxious ones things would change. BTW, I have less problems with preachy vegetarians than I do with the vegans who I think are mentally challenged.

Some people are assholes, the reason is irrelevant, its just a reason to be an ***.
Most of the time in real life i dont even tell people im vegetarian and like you i have no desire to change anyone elses opinions.
when people actually find out im vegetarian they dont seem to care because i dont make a massive deal about it.
if theres nothing to eat somewhere i will just say im not hungry and will get something later, id rather not bring people down by pointing out thier bad eating habits. missing a meal is not the end of the world, sometimes i dont feel like eating anyway so i dont, it lets your digestive system catch up.
it seems to be that on the net people generalise more and have more bravado than in real life.
its usually easier to find out that i do kung fu before someone can find out your a vegetarian because i go there so often. people notice your muscles and bruises, once they know that they are less inclined to say much about vegetarianism to me ahah, especially when they find out I also have no desire to change them what so ever.
try not to worry about it so much, deal with it when it comes up in a calm and respectful manner, dont rise to the bait and become 'fanatical' or 'crazy' as its bad for everyones image and gets us all stereotyped.
the more calm, respectful and understanding veg*ans out there the better!
hold hope that other people will find their own path one day and when someone is looking for information to find their own path then by all means help them out by sharing whats worked for you and the things that you believe to be true.

Thank you for your point of view. I agree. To each his own. Let the vegan and the vegetarian as well as the meat eaters try to see the others' point of view instead of preaching how the other should live.

We tend to fear and judge what we don't understand. If someone is different from ourselves then it makes us uncomfortable.....probably because we're ignorant and need to feel superior. Some things haven't changed in the thousands of years we've been on this planet.....don't think they're going to change any time soon either!

People like to be negative to others, especially the minority, to feel better about themselves.
People should really be more interested in putting positive energy in the world.

They are the same tired old bigots that have plagued humanity for thousands of years.
They hate to see someone more thoughtful than themselves and are too weak to adapt.
