Thinking about eating healthier. If not totally vegetarian, then at least no more red meats. The problem is what are some good meals? I don't want to just have salads everyday.

some people suggest that a return to a fruitarian diet will help to bring about a return to an eden like state on earth again, could the movement towards vegetarianism be a step in the direction of that return to a paradise like state?

I really want to become a vegetarian. Just so I can become healthier and not support hurting animals.

I have signed up for PETA's veg. starter kit but that wont come for 4-6 weeks.

What kind of things do I need to take so that I can get the nutrients and vitamins that came from the meat and other things?

Any help is appreciated.

I just wanted to know Why Vegan? I dont understand why you dont consume any animal parts at all -meaning milk or cheese or anything like that where its not even meat? I'm not asking to be insensitive just to get your guy's point of view as to why its so 'bad'

I'd Like to know what all the Vegtarians and Vegans eat in a day. Give me a breakdown of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Just one day would be fine. I really want to minimize the clutter on this topic so any Omnis making stupid comments will be reported.

Thanks everyone!

I checked in pharmacies and mostly they don't seem to have anything labeled vegan or even vegetarian.
In fact some even have food coloring, artificial flavor, or sugar, in addition to animal. Multivitamins are supposed to be good for you.

Whats on your menu this year?

We are going to have the garlic and herb Quorn cutlets, mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries, homemade cranberry sauce, green beans w/ almonds and lots of vegetarian gravy. My kids are picky but LOVE Quorn so this year I want to please everyone : )

See, to me it is VERY important that my family and I live a cruelty-free life. I want us to be kind to other people and animals, take care of the environment, eat healthily, etc. But he is more the type to let them do whatever they want as long as it is not drugs or something like that. So I made a compromise: they will be vegetarian until they can decide for themselves and understand the issues about animals raised for slaughter, etc. What do you think about this whole issue?Do you think that that is a good compromise? Thanks peoples! :)

You just place tortilla chips on a plate...melt some cheddar cheese on it....then you stack: lettuce, tomatoes, diced onions, refried beans, salsa, (hamburger if you wish) or make it all veggie.... top with sour cream...sprinkle with black olives if you like them...My boyfriend LOVES this...and it's easy!!!!

So, I've decided to become a vegetarian. No meat for moi. However, I also do now understand the view behind becoming an all out vegan. Try as I might, I know that the infatuation I have with dairy products is not soon to subside. However, I want to know if there are ways to ensure that the animals that say "moo" are treated well if they are producing my milk, cheese, etc. I understand that to produce milk, cows are impregnated each year and that in many cases the male calves are put into the veal trade. Are there any products that certify that this is NOT practiced (organic label, perhaps?). Or, that when cows grow older they are not put in the "mmm...yummy steak" category? I am really trying to be more socially aware, but it is really really difficult. So, maybe you can help??? Thanks!
