McDonalds keep changing their veggie options which is quite annoying.
They did go through a phase of offering a 'Veg Deluxe' burger, which was a really good quality meat substitute burger. This was the best fast-food veggiburger I can ever recall eating. But they changed the burger after a while - it was still called the Veg Deluxe but the burger was a cheapskate vegetable grill made from reconstituted potato with a smattering of chopped vegetables, and contained next to no protein at all. I guess some single brain-celled Mc Donald's executive somewhere imagined that we wouldn't notice. I guess sales of the product plummeted and rather than realise their mistake they just took it off the menu.
Then more recently they did the Quorn Premiere for a while which I thought tasted not bad despite criticism from some people here. Then they dropped this in favour of the Veggie Melt Grill - which despite having more vegetable content actually had quite a lot of added salt and sugar in it, judging by the taste, and a higher fat/protein ratio than the Quorn burger. I haven't been to a McD for a while now so I don't know what they're doing right now.
KFC used to do a really good veggie burger which was my burger of choice for a while. But they dropped this. Then they introduced a Quorn Twister which was strips of fried quorn in a tortilla wrap with some salad. That was also good. Then they dropped their veggie options altogether, so I stopped going there.
Burger King have offered the most consistent fare over the years. The Spicy Beanburger with Cheese has been on their menu for about 20 years I think and hasn't changed. I quite like the odd one now and then. They also currently do a 'straight' veggieburger which tastes not too bad.
I think overall BK have had the most custom from me because of this consistency. They haven't mucked me about so much. I know I can stop at a BK and get something veggie, whereas the others are too much of a lottery.

As someone has already pointed out, it's likely that these places aren't too bothered about keeping veggie stuff seperate. I would avoid at all costs if you can.
I live in London so there's always another option round the corner, if you really stuck and have no options but fast food then it just depends where you live- in the UK, all those places have veggie burger meals and also McD's has that new vegetable sandwich thing.
If you live in the US, they have different menus, and I think the places you mentioned are all are less veggie friendly. Wendy's would be a much better option because they do baked potatoes, and Taco Bell has bean burritos. Those are the only fast food places I ever set foot in!

Not very good.
You can't be sure that the chips aren't fried in the same oil as all the meat and fish etc. (but sometimes its ok)
They put mayonnaise in everything and mayonnaise has eggs in it (I'm no vegan, just vegetarian).
The only thing I can have is usually a milkshake or a coke. Not everyone likes salad, and especially if they're looking for fast food.
I haven't tried much, because they don't offer much, so I tend to stay away, but I do believe its getting better in recent years.
Also any vege stuff they do have is just basically like a meat burger minus the meat and everything else, except for the bun and a vege burger in the middle, for nice stuff to make it exciting.
Subway is great though.

There really should be more vegetarian choices in fast food restaurants. I have some meat eating friends who actually act like they're offended when veggie choices are put in place, like it ruins the traditional "home of the whopper" or something like that. Vegetarian populations are increasing, and we all know cooperate business, including the food chains we all know and love ultimately just want maximum profit. The only downside is, although new options are brought in, many non-vegetarians don't recognize certain things, like cooking on the same grill, using the same fat for chicken and french fries, etc. that throw the whole "vegetarian" label out the window.

On a scale of 0-10 0 being the worst and 10 being the best
Mickey Ds, KFC, and The BK lounge would rate a ( -2 )
Corn on the cob is great ( 9 ) if you eat it raw, or a ( 6 ) if it is cooked. Note, if you are not used to eating corn raw, please don't eat to much to start with.

I'm a veggie and I just don't go to KFC or McD's - there's no point! If I want a veggie snack I'll buy a cheese sandwich, if I want a decent veggie meal, I certainly won't go there! And corn on the cob is only fit for donkeys in any case.

They are almost never vegetarian, so the question is a bit odd.
They don't keep all cooking surfaces and utencils seperate so there will be cross contamination.
If you eat a veggie burger in MACD's you might as well go right up to the cow and slice a bit off the rump - you're eating cow either way.
Listen up Vikki.... Even the fries are not veggie....eeeemm beef fat.
Veggies need to keep away from all these places., including most normal resturants as well.
Note that no veggie society will approve fast food veggie option so doesn't that tell you something ? Its all contaminated with dead cow, pig and chicken.

With the lack of selection, I usually stay away from the mentioned places. However, I do frequent Taco Bell. Most of the menu items can have beans instead of beef, and they even put a vegitarian sticker on their menus (at some locations) for some items such as the 7 layer burrito and bean burrito.
Or I just order a tray of nachos without the meat. Yum.

I don't go to McDonalds but I love the Bean Burger they have in Burgerking. The corn on the cob question is interesting because I l;ove it but I wouldn't eat it anywhere except at home. It is just too messy!!

Strangely enough we ate at a McDonalds in Cyprus (a grandchild's idea) & it had a good vegetarian option - but generally at fast food places, it is poor, like eating cardboard - one's got to remember however that most restaurants are pretty poor too when it comes to vegetarian options. Many don't even bother to use vegetarian cheese for example.
Every now & then we come across a good one & really appreciate it.
