Because of the way laying hens and dairy cows are treated on factory farms. Vegans are trying not to contribute to the exploitation of animals, period.

It's all personal choices and views. For me, the part of the country I live in and my knowledge of dairy farming procedures and egg productions I am okay with consuming them. But it IS true that at some large dairy farms treat the cows very badly and shoot them up with hormones. Vegans believe that it all comes down to supply and demand. While there might not be anything inherently wrong with drinking milk, it's got to do with not buying the product when you know animals have suffered to produce it. Same with eggs - some farms treat the hens quite cruelly. You need to do research and figure out what you're okay with and what you're not okay with when becoming a vegetarian. Also, some vegans don't eat honey b/c of a belief that the bees are killed at the end of a year (not true in most cases, esp. in Canada) and some don't wear wool b/c the sheep may be mistreated in certain instances. Btw, you had mentioned cheese - you might not be aware of this, but most processed cheeses contain meat-derived ingred's (rennet) so most vegetarians don't eat it as well.

I found for me that it's healthier not to eat dairy or eggs. Over the years, I've built up an intolerance for dairy, and I never really liked eggs from the start, (although I did enjoy things made with eggs, like cake) so for me, this is a diet that's much easier on the body.

i think my honeymoon is over with R&S. I used to get exhilaration from this internet site. the lack of ability of civility has led to me to diminish back on the time i'm prepared to spend right here. i believe sorry for those that sense a could desire to vent such ugliness at those that have a various concept equipment than they have. Bigotry seems to be winning the conflict right here. on the lighter part, I even have been to funerals the place i be attentive to the minister replaced into saying issues that the dearly departed could have slapped them in the event that they could have. (of course, I actually have a warped humorousness or i could in no way have stayed around right here.) rude and crude is for junior intense college. Edit: A Christian who has been to three Atheist's funerals. My advice is to preplan your person funeral so as that it reflects your ideals, or come to a determination to enable your loved ones do despite is maximum comforting to them.

I'm not sure myself why they don't. I'm a vegetarian and I do include organic milk, eggs, cheese ect...into my diet. Organic animals are not treated bad unlike the ones prepared for the public....
