We have a bagel shop and my dad thinks that we'll save money by turning off the oven/toaster when there are no customers and turning it back on when they come in. But I think its better to leave it on, cause perhaps it works like any other machine, that if you turn it on and off alot, itll break faster.. And it takes a while for the toaster oven to get hot. It's one of those conveyor ones. I want to know if my theory is right. What do you guys think?

Tired of spaghetti/meatloaf/cheeseburgers. Any good recipes using ground beef? I have other basic ingredients (cheese, sour cream, canned tomatoes, pasta, rice, etc.) Any suggestions?

I'm making an egg bake for company this morning and it calls for sage. I just realized I'm all out and can't make it to the store to get some. Is there a comparable alternative? It only asks for 1/2 teaspoon. I don't want anything crazy or spicy - just something simple that might compare. Any suggestions please??

I am going to try and make Christmas Eve dinner for my family. I want to do ALL the cooking and I'll be cooking for about 17 people. I was thinking that I could have a lot of things but none of the stuff LOOKS like it will take that long. I am not sure, but what things would be good to PRE cook & just heat up that day? How far in advance should I cook the stuff? Here's my potential menu (if u have any suggestions on recipes for what I have, things to add and recipes let me kno):
Chicken
Roast
Stuffing
Rice
Giblet Gravy
GreenBeans w/ potatoes
Mac & Cheese
Potato Salad
Yams
Pinto Beans
Squash Casserole
Cranberry Sauce
Cornbread
Bread Pudding, Sweet Potato Pie
Fruit Punch, Egg Nog, Apple Cider, Wine

I'm 18 and about to move out of my mom's house. I don't really want to live on Ramen noodles and Spagettios, so I'm up for ideas!

I don't really eat much, so I don't want to buy anything in bulk since it will be just me and it would probably ruin before I could eat it all. I'd like some healthy ideas for food choices that aren't expensive. The least amount of money I can spend the better! Thanks!

I have tried several receipes and even purchased the Pillsbury sugar cookie dough but all sucked.

I really need a proven receipe that I can use to impress my family and friends during my X-mas dinner party..
