No resturaunts, no pizza delievery, no chinese take out. We have been eating out every night for the last week and a half because of the heat. Now I need to make something without heating up my house! No sandwiches either.... Please any ideas on a good supper without heating up the house.. (Yes we do have air, but once the oven is on you can not tell...)

The salad consists of kiwi fruit, watermelon, bananas, apples, grapes (?) and other fruits and the dressing was a lime dressing with just sugar and water. I cut this recipe out of one of my TOH magazines and have misplaced it.

My grandma used to make milk gravy with bacon grease as well as sausage. I liked the bacon version better. I do everything she used to do but all I can taste in mine is the flour. I thought I was using to much of it, but if I don't use enough then it doesn't thicken up like it's supposed to. She also only used about 1 tablespoon of the grease, and then gradually added the water and flour mixture. Help!!

I realize it's cheesecake, so it'll be more a lower cal/fat recipe than just low cal/fat. I loooooooooveeee cheesecake but can't bear to eat all that badness. Am I asking for the impossible? Give me a good recipe and you'll get 10 points! Thanks!

TACO BURGER
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1 package taco seasoning

1 small can chopped green chilies

1/2 C. finely chopped onion

salt and pepper to taste

6 pieces pepper jack cheese

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Shape into 6 patties.

Grill or pan fry until desired doneness. Top with cheese and melt.

Serve with salsa mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Serves 6.

Salsa Mayonnaise

1/2 C. salsa (your favorite kind)

1/2 mayonnaise

Mix together in a bowl.

Optional: add chopped jalapeno peppers
