i am currently a chef and am fed up with the hours and would like to work with food still and thought of a taster or writer, dont know how to get into it though.

being chinese, I grow up in chinese home and eat chinese meals. then I get to america and hear the gwai lo's talking about chinese food being "ching chong chow mein" and "kwang paio chicken"... like, I've grew up eating chinese food and never have I eaten any "kwang paio chicken"
where'd you get all these sterotypes from

I absolutely HATE the taste of acohol!!! But sometimes, I want to sit back and have a few drinks with my friends. I like amoretto sours, but I'm tired of drinking those- plus I heard theres not much alcohol in those. I need something that doesn't taste like alcohol, but can give me a good buzz- or just relax me. Any suggestions? I don't like orange juice or mango or anything like that...so leave those suggestions out. haha.

Is there anything in the kitchen that you have not mastered but would like to? Is there something you can never seem to prepare correctly and it frustrates the mess out of you?

I love to cook and bake - they're actually my hobbies. I make 99% of my meals from scratch and I've also made some complicated dishes and desserts. Two things I am not able to master is cooking rice (that's not instant) and popping microwave popcorn. My Mum makes fun of me because those have to be the two easiest things to do. LOL.

Anyone else have a skill/ technique/ dish that eludes your mastery?
