I recently went shopping for a stir fry pan, and there were so many choices! hard anodized something, teflon, etc. Which is the best and does the price indicate how good it is? Thanks.

Everybody knows that boxed macaroni and cheese mix (like Kraft) is a super-cheap way to stretch your food budget. Does anyone have any easy recipes, tips, or add-ins to dress it up a little bit or make it into a main dish? Thanks!

So many to choose from. I have mine but with so many sucky "B"rated films out there making the ratings, I wonder if there are any great ones still left. Snakes on a Plane was one of those bad "B" films that totally sucked! Sooo, does anyone have a favorite? which one and why?

trying to make chocolate chip cookies

My penpal sent me chocolates for Valentine's Day, so I want to buy her some for White Day(March 14) in return.
The kind I want I can only buy in a European import store on the other side of town, so I want to know if I can buy them online and have them shipped to her so i don't have to go across town in the icy weather.
It's a dark chocolate bar with freeze-dried raspberries inside. I believe it has a love poem on the inside of the wrapper too. Does anyone know what this chocolate bar is called and where I might find them for sale online?
Thanks in advance!

I want to start cooking healthier meals for my kids and I but I would like to find some quick meals that don't require ingredients that the average low to moderate income single mom(me) wouldn't have on hand. Any suggestions please?

As everyone knows, with all the snow, the NKY area lost power yesterday. We lost it around 4:30/4:45pm-ish, and it came back on around 9pm. We had to leave, cause we have a 16 month old, so our fridge was never even opened or messed with. How long can the food that was in it sit before they would be considered spoiled?? Like milk, and meats (chicken and pork), and deli meats. I don't want to have to throw everything away, and was just wondering if anyone had had experience with this. What should I pitch and what can I keep after about 4 1/2 hours of unopened non-fridge power?? THANKS!

There are lot of ranchers that want to test their cows but the government made it illegal for them to do this! They are only testing a very small amount of cows and the ranchers that want to test all their cattle to prove they have good cows are told they will go to jail if they test any of their cows!!! Don't the government want us to know beef is ok? Or are they hiding just how many cows are really sick? The test is cheap so they can't say they make voluntary testing illegal because of the cost.

A few years ago I saw in a catalog some beautiful, blended color handle steak knives - don't know what they were made of - seems they were several hundred dollars for a set of 4 - I can't find them again in any catalog - anyone have an idea what they were?

I am cooking my husband a wonderful dinner tonight with steak and mashed potatoes and I am trying to pick out a wine to go with our dinner tonight. What is a good white wine that my husband might like because he isn't very big on wines and I don't like red wines.

With global warming seeming to be a certainty over the next 50 years, do you think that traditional wine regions like Bordeaux and Burgundy will just allow their wines to change as the climate changes (eg Bordeaux producing blockbuster Napa style cabs every year) or will wine makers alter their vineyard management and clone selection to try and retain a more elegant style?

I'm looking for a pub trivia night in Houston, TX (or somewhere close). I love the Flying Saucer on Tuesdays... but I was looking for some other places to check out too.

Thanks,

Last night I decided to go all out and buy a $50, 1.74 lb prime "butterflied" tenderloin/filet mignon for tonight's valentines day dinner.
I typically don't doubt my steak cooking talent, but then again I typically don't cook steak of this cost/quality/thickness. And I only have one..so there is no room for a screw up (as opposed to your cheaper $5.99-9.99/lb rib-eye from Safeway).
I should have all the neccessary spices/ingredients/equipment to work with. I have a good gas grill w/ thermometer,an oven w/broiler & griddle if neccessary. I like steaks the way they were meant to be eaten light seasonings, browned outside (not burnt), and medium rare inside. Any recommendations on cooking? I'm sure you'll all come up with great ideas, so it'll be hard to choose the best answer. Thanks a bunch.
