trying to make chocolate chip cookies

Making cookies, too much snow to go to the store.

Nope. (Baking powder would be closest but it has additives that keep it from making things as puffy as baking soda does. You could try it but your cookies will be flat and very crunchy). You have to make a trip to the grocery store, sorry.

no. go to store and bet some bqaking soda. about the onlt way. Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, has a number of functions in baking - it acts as a leavener, as well, as a browning agent.

you could use Calcium Carbonate, but you probably have none of that either.

no...if you go with out it they will turn out really bad...and there is nothing you can substitute. just go to the store and buy some.

for every 1/2 teaspoon of BS use 1 teaspoon of baking powder
must replace the acidic liquid in recipe with non-acidic liquid.
