You can put regular vegetable oil on a piece of paper towel and rub the pan, then flour....or, you can use margerine, but be careful that it doesn't collect in the corners or it'll crisp the edges of the cake.

Spread butter or just flour the

I wouldn't use butter, but you can use oil spray (you know pam or something) or vegetable oil on a paper towel. It will work the same! Good luck on the cake!

yes, butter is a fine replacement. Also, just vegetable oil with a dusting of flour will work.

Butter is great. Any form of oil will work great too (including margarine) but might be harder to flour. Good luck!

Never use butter - it will make your cake stick to the side of your pan. The new bakers spray works great. I personally use pam and powdered sugar - looks and tastes better!

You can use butter, or a cooking spray- also bakers secret which already has the flour in it.

Use butter or some type on non hydrogenated oil. Shortening is REALLY unhealthy and you should never use it in food.
