A few years ago I saw in a catalog some beautiful, blended color handle steak knives - don't know what they were made of - seems they were several hundred dollars for a set of 4 - I can't find them again in any catalog - anyone have an idea what they were?

There are so many knives on the market now a day's that fit that description. You can try foodnetwork.com click on store home and then kitchen and food and then find knives on the left hand side. They have a lot of nice products, I own many myself.
Good luck!

Maybe they were Cutco knives? They have very nice knives with a red and brown 'woodstock' handle. And they do tend to be pricey.
