My mum has cut dairy out of her diet since a recent brush with breast cancer and I've given her curries and stir-fries every time she's visited recently!

I have a vegan friend, but I saw him eating a sandwich. The bread contains yeast (albeit dead). Yeast doesn't photosynthasise, so I would think of it as an animal rather than a plant. The yeast is only used to help the bread rise, but the yeast is never extracted, so the dead yeast cells still exist in the bread. Does this not mean that vegans can't eat bread? Can any vegans out there enlighten me?

I see this caption most of the times at the end of the movies. I believe this is monitored by "American Humane society".

In the above case, is my assumption true that all of the people in that organization are strict vegitarians or are those like discussing about 'animal rights' over a lunch with a 'yummy' tender loin chops?

I have seen this cake sold in the bakery section at Wal-Marts nationwide for years. It is always baked in a tube pan and packaged upside down in a plastic tube pan. It's about 3-4" tall and the glaze/frosting has a grainy sugary texture. It is not flipped upside down and then glazed like most Bundt/tube pan cakes. It is frosted just as it came out of the oven. It has a deep yellow color which I suspect comes from food coloring. I have tried with other lemon cake recipes but they never come out with the right lemony taste and texture. This cake is thick and crumbly like a pound cake (it's nothing like an angel food cake), but it is also light. It's very sweet and moist and literally melts in your mouth like sugar. I have searched the Internet upside down for this recipe with zero results. Help!!!
