What foods do america do best, and what is the dish of Texas please?

Fried chicken and apple pie. I'd say chili or anything "Tex-Mex" would be the dish of Texas.

Chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes is huge in Texas. You tenderize round steak, dip it in flour, then egg, then in flour and fry it. Make gravy with the drippings.
