hi i am born a vegetarian. never tasted any sort of meat product. my question is why do people eat meat products and don't u feel ashamed that u r killing a living thing for ur own pleasure??? i mean to say that animals (big or small) feel pain too.

We normally drink bottled water at home. We use filtered tap water for our hot water. I was just wondering if tap watered filtered by Brita charcoal is safe to drink. My wife says activated charcoal does not filter out organisms or the tiny amout of parasites that might be in the municipal tap water.

I checked the label for the bottled water in the grocery store. They usually say it's been ozonated and filtered by activated charcoal. Even the water from the spring water says it's been filtered. That seems to tell me you need to filter out the organic impurities with charcoal and treat it with something to kill off the germs. Is that correct? Thanks.

per pound, deli meats are a lot more expensive than buying meat in other forms.
why is this?
i know they have to cure it and all, but still, it just seems like too much money to be paying $6-8 a pound for turkey or roast beef.

okay....I know the simple answers are:
because it flavors it, and because it acts as a preservative

still, i just don't see why so MUCH salt is necessary.

in things like canned soup, TV dinners, sauces, and deli meats, the sodium content is through the roof!
is it really necessary for the taste? I think they would taste just as good with much lower sodium content.

i know they make some "reduced sodium" varieties, but not enough, and even they still have a lot of sodium

I need a coffemaker that will grind & brew coffe using a timer. I like it to be ready when I wake up. I will need a thermal that will keep it hot.

I worry about the reliability of these types of machines... meaning will the thing still work right in a year or two.

Can anyone recommend a brand that you have had success with?

In America when people think of Irish food they think of Corned Beef and Cabbage, Bangers’ and Mashed, Irish Stew, Shepherd’s Pie and of course Guinness. I’m sure there is more to Irish fare then that. What do you enjoy eating that would be considered traditional foods of Ireland?

The scotch and whiskey have been opened, and they're being stored in a dark cabinet. I put the open vodka, gin, schnapps, and liqueurs in the fridge. Do I really need to refrigerate any of those things? And is it ok to keep the scotch and whiskey at room temp? What do I do with opened wine?

My goal is to keep it all fresh and drinkable for as long as possible. I don't have any need to "age" anything, especially since I don't think stuff can age in a bottle anyway.

I have searched all over the Web and have found close to nothing, although I did find a few restaurants that served it, so know it's possible. I can easily substitute margerine for butter in a conventional Molten Lava Cake recipe, but eggs are a pretty essential element. I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

Is it OK to still love kids cereal. I never seem to grow out of it even though my friends all eat the mature and healthy variety (Wheaties, Total, etc). I still love all the brands I grew up with...honey combs, captn crunch, apple jacks, fruity peebles, lucky charms, froot loops, every single last one of them....I can go on and on. Am I the only grown up holding a box of Honey Smacks in the supermarket line?
