I'm looking for cookbook titles here. My mother still has problems with ideas for cooking just for herself, and she doesn't have a computer. So, it has to be cookbooks and not links. I'll take the titles that are offered, check our local library system and reserve some of them for her. It's just that the local library system is huge, so blindly searching the catalogue is not all that efficient.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

I hit a stray Shetland pony the other night in my Humvee and it was killed instantly. Really glad I had the extra heavy duty brush guard installed. The blood just washed away with the garden hose -- anyway, I figured there was no need in wasting the horse. afterall, meat's meat and a man's got to eat! I always carry a chainsaw in my truck so it was no problem to field dress the little guy right there on the side of the road, load him up and bring him home. So...deep fry? Grilled? Smoked? What will taste best?

Well, I'm a vegetarian, and it's getting sickening having to only eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch at school because no one as requested vegetarian meals. My principal isn't really open to new things such as especially changing the lunch menu for 1 person (as in me). I really wish that the school would serve meat-free meals often with regard for those vegetarians. I don't think it's fair that while the lunch-ladies serve meat while all I can eat is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while other non-vegetarian students can enjoy their more than boring lunches. I need suggestions on how to convince my principal to serve vegetarian meals at lunch and I have an idea. I round up facts about being a vegetarian, such as the benefits and why it isn't fair that I am stuck with the same lunch everyday. Does anyone have any other ideas? I need some by Monday when I go back. Thanks a bunch!

A family member brought over some freshly cut sugar cane (kane?) that he bought from a grocery store. Each cane is about 5 ft tall. We were supposed to keep it to give to a nephew coming here soon. Anybody know how long sugar cane will safely last?
The canes are starting to look a bit discolored and a little wilted on the ends but the middle still looks fine. I have no idea if that is a normal thing or not. I guess we've had them since Christmas. I don't want to feed them to the nephew if they are bad.
Thanks in advanced for all replies.
