you can cook anything you cook in a normal oven in a TOASTER oven , not a microwave oven... in the toaster oven you can bake cookies and all kinda of things, but the microwave oven... pretty much all you can do is heat up left overs, raviolies, or cook popcorn...

There are some things that won't work at all in a microwave (for example, baking bread) and some things that won't come out quite as good (won't brown properly, might come out soggy instead of crisp; a lot of microwaveable boxed foods contain special instructions and gray areas on cardboard trays to help with the crispness). There are some things that actually work better in a microwave: IMHO bacon is best in a microwave, also good cooked in a pan on the stove, I've never heard of anyone baking it in an oven. In spite of what another answer says, I like hot dogs cooked in the microwave, it is easier than boiling them in water, and I've never heard of anyone baking them in the oven.
Another thing that is MUCH MUCH BETTER in the microwave than in the oven: microwave popcorn!

A conventional hot oven is VERY different to a microwave.
In my opinion the microwace is best for reheating food in small amounts, heating a cup of tea and of course popcorn.
Vegetables and pieces of fish can be steamed in a microwave safe bowl with a lid on.
Do not prepare meat in the microoven.

Microwaves are for heating and steaming food (and making popcorn), and ovens are for baking. If you want a multipurpose, then it's called a combination microwave oven, which heats your dinner and can bake your roast.

You can heat and cook in a microwave, but the food usually doesn't come out 'roasted' or 'fried' looking.
Without more details, it is hard to advise you.
