I've just spoken to an old guy in Waitrose cafe. He looked no more than 75 but insisted that he was 92. His daughter came along and told me that he was in fact 92. He told me that he owned a fruit shop for 40 years and had always eaten bananas that he couldn't sell (too ripe) and snacked on grapes whenever he passed the grape stand. He had always done it. He was convinced that it was the secret to being so fit and active AND 92. I asked him if he had ever been ill and he said that he had had measles in 1916 when he was 2 and had had perfect health since! I'm going to try this - what do you think? Good idea or just coincidence?

I'm making white chocolate covered pretzels, and my sauce is more yellow than white. Is there anything I can add to it that won't change the taste too much, but will make it look whiter?

I once had a recipe for a dairy and wheat free cake. It contained approx 200g ground almonds, 200g caster sugar, 6 eggs and the icing sugar. unfortuneately I lost it and cant remember if the sugar goes with the egg yolk or the white and vice versa with the sugar?
Also how long do I have do bake it again?

Seemingly made out of glutinous rice and filled with custard. It's closer to the consistency of daifuku mochi in the fact that if you hold it up, it'll flop over due to its dough texture. It's apparently very hard for me to find these days and I think it's because everyone always confuses it for sweet cream buns that are bready. I was just wondering if there's a different name that will specify the doughy custard buns instead of the bready ones.

I could eat them every day and some soup to go with them most of the time. Turkey, ham, beef with horseraddish, chese melted with bacon bits, cucumber and cream cheese and many other fillings that can be put between bread. A nice soup to go with it sure makes a good meal.

I cook my fully thawed turkeys with dressing in it at 450 °F sealed in aluminum foil. I throw away the timer and I don't open it at all until it's done. I'm trying to develop a simple chart with a sliding scale so can take the turkey weight and cross reference it with the cooking time when I bake it. I usually bake a 20 pounder for 3 1/2 hours and it comes out perfect. I did a 17 pounder once at about 3:06 and it came out perfect. However when I did a 24 pounder at 4 hours (my straight line estimate) that wasn't enough. So maybe a curve would be better than a straight line. However I really don't know. If you have worked out perfect cooking times for various weights of turkey with dressing in it I'd like your input. It doesn't bother me what temperature you do yours (350 °F or whatever) as long as you have worked out the perfect time for cooking all your various turkey weights while cooking in a similar manner to the way I do. It would give me useful information that I could work with.
