Has to be citrus juice. Lime or lemon. Cut the fruit and wipe segments round the glass. Then dip the glass in sugar. Works with salt too. Try a salty dog - vodka and grapefruit juice with the rim of the glass coated with salt.

In the old days you'd dip the rim of the glass in a shallow tray of whisked (NOT whipped!) egg white, but with all the salmonella scares, it's become the thing to use water. The only thing there is that the sugar is liable to fall off when the water and the sugar dry out !

Have a saucer of water and dip the rim into it. Keep upside down and drain it off for a few seconds and then dip the rim evenly into a saucer or shallow bowl of sugar.
Happy Christmas.

Direct from a barmaid to you: Take out a wide bowl, fill it about 1/4 of an inch with lemon juice or water, dip your glass, and you should have another wide bowl filled with sugar (about 1/2 an inch) and dip in your sugar... VOILA! The same method works with celery salt for bloody ceasars, and salt for marguaritas... Enjoy

usually when people do the lime and salt thing...they take the lime and turn it around the glass rim. its now wet with lime. then they sprinkle salt keeping the glass tilted and shake off in the sink...that way its only on the rim....replace salt for sugar. good luck!

The black ones compliment your beautiful dark hair. The white ones, on an identical time as the image is amazingly dim nevertheless look ok yet detract out of your good factors so as that folk would be greater concentrated on the glasses than on you.
