Get the Pilsbury dough in a tube, roll it out, and cut. That way, if they don't turn out well, you didn't spend a lot of time on them.

I have one though I never try it out but it looks quite simple I got it in a website.
Ingredients
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg
2/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon lemon extreact
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teasepoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease cookie sheets.
2. Mix sugar,shortening,egg,honey,and lemon extract
3. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well.
4. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut into desierd shapes. Place 1 inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched. Cool and decorate.
There you go! Simple Sugar Cookies!

This is taking the easy way out but...Pillsbury now sells sugar cookie dough and ginger bread dough already made and rolled into sheets. All you do is cut, bake, and decorate.
I saw it in Waldbaums supermarket the other day. I love it because I like to decorate cookies, but I don't really like making and rolling out the dough.

Lemon Cream cheese cutout cookies
Ingredients
2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp salt
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 3-oz package cream cheese, softened
1.2 cup sugar
3 tbsp milk
1 1/2 tsp grated lemon peel
2 cups sifted powdered sugar (optional)
2 tbsp warm water (optional)
4 tbsp meringue powder
1/4 tsp cream of tartar(optional)
Directions
Srite 2gether flour, spices, and salt. In a medium mxing bowl, beat 2gether butter, cream cheese, and sugar with an electric mixer until wel combined. Beat in milk and lemon peel. Add dry ingredients, beating at low speed juist until combined. Chill, covered, for 2 to 3 hours or until firm. On a lightly floured surgace, roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into shapes using cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until bottom are lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.
If desired, in a medium mixing bowl combine powdered sugar, meringue powder, and cream of tartar. Add 3 tbsp cold water. Beat with an electric mizer on low speed until mixture in combined, then on medium to high speed for 7 to 10 minutes or until mixture forms stiff peaks. (If mixture seems stiff while beating, add water, 1/2 tsp at a time. Icing should be fairly thick for piping. For a thinner, glazing consistency, srit in a lil more water after beating). Spread over cookies. (When not using, keep icing tighly covered to precent drying). Makes bout 60, 2 1/2 inch cookies.
ONe brand of meringue powder is Wilton. Look for the powder at kitchen, cke-decorating, and crafts shops. Good luck*

You need to roll out the dough alittle thicker and dont bake long. Only until the bottoms are slightly browned. After you decorate, put into an airtight container. If your looking for a new recipe, go to christmas cookies.com. They have alot of them.

EASY & DELICIOUS CUT OUT COOKIES
DOUGH:
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
ICING:
6 tbsp. butter
1 lb. pkg. confectioners' sugar
1/4 c. light cream
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Mix together dough ingredients thoroughly and chill for at least one hour. Roll out on floured surface to desired thickness and cut. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes (depending on thickness).
Mix together icing ingredients using cream and confectioners' sugar amounts to determine consistency. Add food coloring if desired and ice cooled cookies.
