My boyfriend is going to be a groomsman in our friends' wedding. He has to be fitted for a tuxedo. He will be getting fitted someplace other than where he will actually be renting the tux from (we live out of state and won't be in town for the wedding until a few days before). Will he have to pay to be fitted for the tux? Will he be expected to tip the person helping him out? Thanks!

I am planning my wedding for February. My colors are Burgundy, Ivory and black. I know roses will be very highly priced due to V-Day so I am trying to find some alternative that will look good and not cost an arm and a leg. I just want some for my bouquet, his boutaineer (sp?) and to decorated the head table. Any suggestions? Pictures and or websites would be appreciated.

I am looking for a good place to get a reasonably priced wedding cake in the Sterling Heights MI area. Even an at home baker would be great. We are paying for the wedding and can not afford what I have found so far. There will be about 200 people at the wedding.

I don't want Renaissance dresses, but I don't want the modern skanky look either.

I've been planning my wedding for almost a year and it's now less than three weeks away. I'm getting so frustrated waiting because my husband-to-be and I want our lives to get back to 'normal.' Neither of us are having second thoughts, we're just ready to get the whole thing over with, is this normal?

My fiance and I are getting married in 19 days and we are going to leave the morning after the wedding to go on our honeymoon. What I want to know is, should I unveil the special lingere for the night we actually get married or the first night of our honeymoon? We're sleeping at home on our wedding night and I think lingere would be sexier in a more exotic setting. Should I get two sets of lingere? Or wear one set on our wedding night and then nothing on the honeymoon night? Or should I save the lingere for the honeymoon?

My younger sister just announced her engagement right in the time period where I believe my boyfriend of 3 years was going to propose to me. Now I feel that if he asks me in the near future, everyone will think we were copying my sister and stealing her glory. We've been planning our wedding for years now, but waiting for the right moment. It's an open topic, and he has hinted that he would ask me officially sometime in the next few months. But, like I said, now it looks bad. I feel like my sister ruined our timing. How long should he wait to ask me? If he proposed soon, should I hide it for a few months and announce it at a later date to my family? Also, my sister has yet to set a date, she said "at least a year." Should I worry about setting our date a certain number of months away from her unknown date? I don't want her to feel like I'm butting in on her glory, but at the same time, I don't want to wait forever.

A friend of mine is getting married in June. Her sister has taken over the details of planning all of her parties for her. She's already had a bridal shower (which her sister put the WEDDING registries in the invitation!) My friend asked me to be a hostess for which I purchased the dress and shoes for already (and happy to do so), but my question is: If I have to buy a wedding gift, the outfit for the wedding, they've asked us to bring a dish to the rehearsal dinner, a bridal shower gift and now her sister wants us to pay $25.00 to attend the bachelorette party, is it wrong for me to be a little less than happy about the "party fee"? Also bearing in mind that I too am getting married this year, moving into a new home and on what I make per paycheck, I'm almost offended at the thought. She's even asked for a $10.00 NON-REFUNDABLE R.S.V.P I would like input from anyone and everyone who knows a little more about these kinds of things. Serious answers PLEASE! Thanks So Much!!

I'm throwing a bridal shower next weekend (yeah, I know, kinda late to be looking for advice. ;) ) I'm planning on doing two games. One of them is going to be a song game where everyone has five minutes to think of as many love songs as possible. For the second game I'm going to ask the bride and groom (it's a couple shower) questions about each other and if they get the question right, they get a prize. If not they have to draw a name from a basket and give a guest the prize. Are these OK games? I'm afraid they're going to be boring or that it's just not enough. Also, should I play the question game alone, by itself, or should I ask a question after every gift they open to save time and make it less boring?? And if I do that, should I throw in another game??? I'm starting to panic and I only have a few days to do this. :(

I found a couple questions like this, but figured it was worth asking again. My fiance and I are indifferent on the idea of a dance, at best. If we chose not to have one, what are some other options for entertainment with our guests? It could help us save our budget, which is extremely minimal.

Quick question. I was wondering which parents names should go first on the wedding invitation. I've always heard that it should be my future bride's parents first. I also don't know how we should put their names on the invitation being that they are divorced as well. Now, I've heard that we should put OUR names first being we are primarily paying for our wedding. My parents are paying about 25% of the wedding so I'm not sure who's name should go first. I know it's like drinking out of a firehose, but any advice would be appreciated.

P.S. I love my fiance, but planning a wedding sucks.

I live in one town and my fiancee lives in another. We are about 3 hours away from each other. He left it up to me but I can't decide where to get married at. The thing is my Grandma is in a nursing home and I would really like for her to be there and she can't travel. She has alzhimeres ( sorry about spelling) If we got married where he lives then it would be cheaper. The church will marry us for free and let us use all the wedding things they have and all his family will be able to be there. Some of them can't travel real far either. I feel like I am being selfish no matter where I choose. My family is real small and his family is pretty big. My family could travel except for my Grandma. Also my best friend is my maidren of honor and I am not sure if she can afford to travel to where he lives.. What is a good way to resolve this conflict and make it work?????

He expects me to be cool with it, because I understand were he is coming from with his reasons. I'm still hurt and upset. What am I suppose to do, just act like everything is normal? He is acting strange too, he is kinda distant from me a little, but he still says he loves me and all that. He's been kinda a butt head too though. I don't know what's wrong with him, is he stressing?

i'm getting married this fall, but unlike my friends who are getting married soon too, i'm not really excited about it like them? my friends send all these group emails to me saying how excited they are, how they're doing all the shopping and cake-picking, and stuff. but i don't feel that way. when people ask me if i'm excited about getting married, i have to say no cuz i'm not? is that normal?
