We are planning on getting married at the beach just the two of us ( second marriage for both), but, we would like to have a nice reception the following weekend to include our family and friends. Everywhere I look has the reception cards reading "following the ceremony". Any ideas where to look?

I am 27 years old and I have been in a relationship for 5 years now. But now i dont know if this is the guy I want to end up with. Having said that I am not sure if I want to start off fresh at this age. My bf wants to marry me but there are issues with his mother which is very dicey. She doesnt like me and she will stay with us since she is a single mother. I want to know if I should stick it out or dump him and start fresh!

My sister is getting married and I'm the maid of honor. My dress is suppose to be different from the bridesmaids, but the place she is getting the dresses from do not have a different dress that coordinates with the others. I suppose to look different so she said my bouquet will look like hers. (WOW!) I want to stand out more (not taking the attention from her) just stand out a little more so I won't look so much like a bridesmaid. Any suggestions on what I can do?

we are doing a beach theme (from the cake to the honeymoon).originally i intended to put brown ,straw beach hats in the middle of the table .filled with sand and shells and candles.but i learned yesterday ,no burning candles are allowed in the reception hall !!!!! what can we do instead and still keep the elegance of something simple and beautiful.??thank you for helping.

So we are planning on getting married and I have started to plan the wedding. I want us both to enjoy it so I ask my fiance his advice sometimes. He just shrugs it off and says he doesn't care about the wedding, just being married to me. Well thats fine but I do need some input from him right? He even got mad at me earlier today because I ran an idea about a wedding location by him! He said "I told you I don't care about this stuff" Is this normal or what? Has anyone else planned a wedding without their fiances? I mean I understand him not wanting to pick out flowers and colors and stuff, but basic stuff like wedding location and vows and stuff wth!!

My husband and our family was invited to a mans wedding from his work.This would be the second wedding we have attended of his in the last 7 years and he has been married 4 or 5 times and the woman at least 2 times.In the invitation they asked for money only as far as gifts go.Do you think this is ok or just plum rude??I feel it is totaly rude.Also how do I know in a few years I wont be invited to another wedding of his?

Ok, I am having a Lingerie shower thrown for me next friday night, I'm really excited, but the thought crossed my mind of how the heck do you write a thank you note to someone who gave you a nightie or thong or something w/o being just totally sexual?! Or do you even write thank-you notes for them? I don't think I have ever gotten one back from goin to a lingerie shower now that I think of it. I am majorly into doing things properly and following ettiqueute, I have promptly thanked everyone with a nice note who has sent us a gift so far w/in a week......so I don't wanna just skip it if I'm supposed to! What do you do?

Ok, i have 3 bridesmaids in my wedding. I'm getting married on july 7th and 1 of my bridesmaids told me last thursday that at the end of may she is moving to alaska!! WTF??!! I was so mad i didnt even know what to say. I've had time to think about it and she says that 2 weeks before my wedding shes flying down here for it and to be apart of everything but i dont see how this is gonna work. First and foremost, she doesnt have the finances to do this because at the moment she doesnt have a job, and what do i do?!! I dont want to worry the entire time if shes gonna make it and i dont wanna take the risk of saying, ok i'll trust u to be here, when i know that she probably wont and i'll end up with 2 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen, a $160 dress that i'll have to pay for, and the feeling of being let down. I just dont wanna take the risk, yanno? SO can someone help me tell her nicely that i dont want to take that risk? I dont want to hurt her feelings but i dont wanna take that risk. HELP!!
