You could do the same thing, but I just saw at WalMart the other day some "fake" tea lights. They look like tea lights but have a little bulb in them that flickers when it's on to make it look like a real candle.

Or you could try using paper lanterns surrounded by sea shells.

Maybe small glass bowls still surrounded by shells with a fish or a crab or something in it.

Good luck!

Just use the hats & shells by it self or get a little fish bowls & put like one exoctic fich in each bowl. Thats pretty beachy to me & the fish are super cool! Or there is always battery operated candles if you want to stick to your original plan. Also You could get some pretty beach flowers like some Hibiscus' or Orchids & put them in a pretty vase. Anyways that is just some ideas! I hope this helps! Congratulations & Good Luck :)

you don't have to have lights on each individual table you can still go with your original theme (make sure there is some color in there- you don't everything monotone) then you can have palm trees set up inside in various places with christmas lights in them. i know it sounds weird but i have seen it done and when done right (don't over do it on the lights) it looks really nice. the batter operated lights are good, but everyone i have seen looks weird because they are not real so i would cover part of the candle with sand or pretty beach like flowers.

Look in any gift catalog or go online to find battery operated candles. They flicker and look like the real thing; and they're good for many hours. Afterwards, you can safely use them in your home in what ever capacity your imagination can conceive.
Your wedding sounds like it will be unique and a lot of fun.
God's blessings on your marriage.

How about a metal shovel and pail in the center of each table with flower blossoms in the pail? Another idea is to build an actual, but small sand castle in the center of each table (perhaps on a silver platter) and place a blossom at a corner of each castle.

You could use Flora-Lites, or use white/clear Christmas lights. That's what we're using across the front of the head table. The battery powered candles are nice, too.

I saw this really neat idea...although I can't remember the name of the site I found it at, but I'll give you the basics.

They made a gel candle in a martini glass and/or champagne glass...then inside the candle they put a glow stick. It was really neat.

You could always use your idea...just don't light the candles.

I agree with the batterie candles- they look nice and work great. Plus they don't get hot!!! I was at one wedding and the girl had 3 pillar candels at each table.... we were all sweating from them... and the place turn up the air all the way.

Look into using battery operated lights (there are some that come in the form of candles).
