The first thing you should do is secure the wedding facility where you would have the reception. Then after the date is set, then go to your church and make plans for the church wedding. Get that date set. Then depending on how much time you have, six months before you should get your wedding gown, ask friends to be in your bridal party, your fiance should ask his friends too at that time. Go for your flowers, wedding invitations, make guest list and catering hall will let you know when to select the food and drinks etc. Hire a good photographer about six to eight months before, and then limos too. A month and a half before the wedding send out your invitations. That is about it...if I left anything out, talk to girlfriends that have recently been married and you will get all the ideas you need, the do's and the don'ts. Also ask for referrals from your married friends. Good Luck to You

Planning weddings can be so much easier then people make them out to be! The best way to start, is to decide if you guys want a small, medium, or large wedding. Once you figure that out, it makes it easier to think of a location. Obviously, its easier to have more people at a "close to hometown" location. But if it is going to be something small and romantic, think about "dream" locations. Just think about something you guys can afford, and go from there. Make sure the wedding doesn't put to much stress on the relationship (disagreeing a lot, or spending too much money can put some serious waves in a relationship). Good luck!!!!

Time is your friend. If you're not fussed about a date, you should be able to get everything you want.

Either way, start with the knowns. If you know where you want to get married, or the hotel, restaurant or whatever, plan around that.

Don't expect everything to go perfectly from the off. Even in a small wedding, lots of people and companies are involved - in short, a lot can go wrong if you're not careful.

Don't expect things to come together on the strength of one phone call. Double check and triple check everything.

step one-- agree on a date
step two-- indoor wedding/ outdoor wedding, local or destination, church or not
step three-- find a location that fits your needs, set up an appointment to look at it, and book as soon as possible
step four-- pick your wedding party
step five-- start looking for dresses (they can take a while to order sometimes)
step six-- pick out invitations and order them
(inbetween these you will need to choose colors and flower types as well)
and just keep going from there... some of this stuff will be super easy other thigns will be a bit more difficult. sometimes you will get a ton of thigns done in one afternoon and other tasks will take what seems like forever. be patient and keep working on it! start looking at invitations and dress styles, tux styles and get ideas even before you actually purchase or put deposits down. once you get started things will begin to flow! good luck and congrats!

First things first set a date.

From there things you need to sort out.

For the wedding itself,

the location
the guestlist
bestman,bridesmaids ect
the dress and clothes
the preist
the flowers for the venue or just for yourself
the rings
accomadation for close family

The wedding reception

the people you want to come include those you didn't invite to the ceremony
the location
flowers/decorations
catering/ bar
dj/band/entertainment

the hunnymoon

i think you can work that one out on your own

congratulations!

Have a great time.

Hi my name is Sassy and I work in the wedding industry the first place you need to start is with A BUDGET. I know that it's very scary, grown up and boring but it's an absolute must. There is no point deciding that you both want an expensive venue and flash cars but then realise that you have no money left to get your wedding outfits !
Good Luck !

Start with a budget, knowing how much you have and are willing to spend will save you headaches and debt down the road. Then pick a date, locations tend to be less busy from Nov. to Mar. than Apr. thru Oct. and some might be cheaper in the off months. Then hit theknot.com, check out some wedding books from the library and start calling around for venues. If it starts to get overwhelming, call a wedding planner... like me!

Then sorted out banner and item for the cars, then moved onto arrange flowers and colour sceme and ideas of what flowers who is have what on the day. Then looked for cars for either church or hotel venue is what i am doing now and its a costly thing but you need to make sure you have everything. Congratulations....

The first thing you should do is set a date and then a realistic budget. I would then suggest looking for a venue. www.confetti.co.uk is a useful source, and it has a forum where you can get help and advice from other people planning there weddings. It has articles they may be helpful with plenty of stuff you wouldn't have thought about.

I have heard that www.theknot.com is a useful source.

first begin by discussing who will pay for this wedding, girl's parents used to, but many girls today pay it themselves [if they've been on their own] and with the help of their fiance. Decide on rings.Go to the pastor and talk about securing the church for that particular date, after that's done, go to a bridall shop to decide on your dress or gown. Go to a dinner club or whatever its called and talk to them about the amt. of people who will be there, meals and prices. [you must have some idea] if you want to have an open bar like for one hour--discuss that too, [you pay for the drinks for one hour] or have them pay for their own alcoholic drinks. Then send out invitations, talk to your bridesmaids about where they want to get their dresses, [you chose the color] later, you call a limo co. if you're going to use a limo, [only for the bridal party] or only for you. Go to a florist to arrange about flowers. Go to a photographer for your formal wedding photos and for the wedding, although lots of peole today just use a friend with a camcorder for the reception. Go to a bakery to order the cake. If you want live music --just chose who you like. You do not need a 'wedding planner'. Towards the end-- buy gifts [cologne, whatever] for the wedding party, men and women, any children,--[to thank them] to be given out [wrapped] after the wedding rehearsal, usually in a restaurant at a dinner..and some people have small wedding favors for each guests,
