Check with the bridal shops in your area. Most of them have business cards on hand.

Ask around. Usually word of mouth is going to be your best bet. You can also check with bridal salons, start with the one where you bought your dress. Make sure any photographer you consider you check both their references (which will be glowing, since the photographer will pick whose names he/she gives you) AND the Better Business Bureau (which will have listings of complaints). After that, ask to see their portfolio (if they don't have one, don't use them), and then start talking money. Make sure when you compare photographers, you're comparing the same things, if one bundles the whole package together, make sure you clearly understand what the entire package covers, from number of shots to time spent shooting. Also, factor in travel expenses if that would be neccessary. Good luck!

start by talking to your florist, baker, or bridal shop then go to friends, family and co-workers. if you have bulletin boards at local community areas look and see if there is a begining photographer- always ask to see photos they have taken and maybe get some bridal or engagement snap shots done so you can see how they work with you and have a couple of poses pre selected that you want see how well they follow directions. alot of times thos ejust starting out in their own business chage alot less, but are still very good- some have signature photos that they love to take and can have an interesting twist on other poses. good luck!

Ask around, my own wedding pics were done by someone at my brother's work 30 yrs. ago and my daughter married in Sept 06 and hers photographer was someone from my husband's work and my son marries April 7, 07 and his is someone from her mom's work. We have had two weddings in six months so price was a big issue and the pics from my daughters are fabulous and the ones from my son's finance's shower were good.

I found mine in the local resources section on www.theknot.com, also I looked at a few of the colleges in town. Art or photography majors will do the job for a lot less as well. Good Luck and Congrats on your wedding!

Check around with your different vendors, or just do some old fashioned research on the internet. I found mine looking at a wedding magazine website, like Brides.com or something like that.

Call the community colleges in your area...see if they have a photography program...if so, photography students are often a trained and affordable way to get lots of pictures.

Start with people in your own family. Perhaps there is someone who can take really good pictures.
My daughter and son-in-law had some post-wedding pictures take in their wedding outfits at Sears and they came out wonderful!
